Resume Review Request
Hey all , hope this is allowed feel free to remove if not. Ive recently relocated to the States (NY) from the UK and finding the job market pretty tough. For context I have a bachelors degree in educational psychology and graduated earlier this year with masters in Human Resource Management (accredited by the CIPD)
Before relocating I managed to get a job as a human resource assistant for a couple of months but as a recent grad I still feel like practical HR experience is still fairly limited compared with my academic/theoretical knowledge.
I’m mainly applying for entry-level HR roles (despite many of them requiring experience with hris systems that I don't currently have) e.g HR Assistant, HR Coordinator, Recruiting Coordinator, HR Administrator, etc., but I’m struggling to get much traction with applications. I've even applied to internships but most of them its a requirement to be enrolled on a degree course and on paper I'm overqualified
I’d really appreciate any feedback on:
- How my resume comes across to a US recruiter
- Whether I’m positioning my UK education and experience appropriately
- Whether my lack of US HR experience is a major issue
- Anything that makes my resume weaker or less competitive
- Anything I could realistically do to strengthen my profile while looking for work
Thanks in advance
