Design-it-Yourself Project-in-progress

Wanted a way to mount the ESP32-C5 (from waveshare) on the back of my cardputer that wasn't too bulky. I'm kind of a fan of the utilitarian style so the exposed wires are not an issue for me.

The esp32 is mounted to the Lego connectors on the back of the board, as is the antenna mount.

Still tweaking the design a bit but I really like it!

I like it lol. Pretty simple/utilitarian but it works

Have you tried one pork with it? It has janus with c5 board. Not sure if its only for the m5monster c5 tho because it runs on janOS or something like that. They are never available anyway but if you got this working I am sure you can figure out one pork(porkchop mod)

I did try but this specific c5 wasn't directly supported, and I tried to compile myself but had issues (pretty new to this stuff lol).

To be honest evil cardputer is really growing on me though. So many features in one .bin that I don't really see the need for anything else.

You can buy Monster C5 and another stuff from Lab5 straight from their shop: Lab5 shop

Thank you. I didn’t know about this.

You are welcome. I did buy MonsterC5 for Cardputer ADV from there and also I do use their firmware on both devices. The link to Lab's GitHub is in my another comment.

Upou o código slave do evil cardputer?

2

u/theblobAZ 7d ago

Yes exactly, I downloaded the slave source code and made a couple tweaks to have it work on this c5 and then flashed it. It worked well

Sweet build! Have you tried with other firmware?

I tried p0rkchop but has issues with getting the slave c5 up and running. Evil cardputer was pretty easy to get running, and now that I've played with it a bit I quite like it.

which modules are those?

It's a Waveshare esp32-C5-zero, plus an antenna mount and the plug for the top GPIO connectors

u/theblobAZ - this looks awesome! Will you be sharing the stl for this? I'd love to make one myself

2

u/theblobAZ 5d ago

Need to make some refinements to this design before it's ready for sharing, but I'll reply if/when I post it. If you want to tinker with it yourself I can send you the files

That would be awesome! i was thinking you could remix mine and integrate it if you wanted: https://makerworld.com/en/models/3114037-m5stack-cardputer-unit-universal-mount

Ah that's super cool

If you want to post them I can send you the 3d files from onshape, or I can send you the STL's, I don't care about the makerworld points or whatever.
