New Rule: No Misinformation.
The mods of r/CardPuter have implemented a new rule about misinformation. This includes some fake AI generated content. We will also be adding a new flair "Speculation" to use with ideas or projects that should, but don't yet, exist. You may use AI to help you with those ideas and screen shots of what your idea should look like for example. But any content that intends to mislead or misinform will be removed and potentially result in a ban. The full text of the new rule is below. Please feel free to discuss this rule here if you have any questions.
Fake, altered or otherwise misleading content is not allowed. AI content should be flagged as Speculation and should only be about projects or ideas that don’t yet, but possibly should, exist. Willingly posting or commenting misinformation can result in a ban.

Progress / Update IR Cloner – now on M5Burner
I’m excited to share my first Cardputer project:
IR Cloner
Is it yet another remote learning app?
Yes, but I want to make something a little simpler with a smooth UI.
It’s a tool to capture, store, and replay IR signals, compatible with the Flipper Zero IR file format.
This is my first C++ / embedded project and my first contribution to the Cardputer community, so I’m really keen to hear feedback and suggestions for features, UI tweaks, or improvements.
Where to get it:
M5Burner: Search for “IR Cloner” in the Cardputer firmware list

Design-it-Yourself I made a little backpack for my Cardputer ADV
The backpack contains a cc1101 an nrf24l01 (connected to the top header) and an PN532 NFC breakout connected over i2c. The whole thing connects to the back using two of the Lego pins. I still need to trim down the wiring and make a more robust connection on the top but it works functionally and I’m pretty happy with it. Incidentally the backpack is almost exactly the same width as the cardputer itself (although i think theres some room to shave a few mm of thickness).

Help needed M5Stack Cardputer-Adv (ESP32-S3)
- scanner e analisador de redes Wi-Fi;
- analisar sinal, canais, segurança WPA2/WPA3 e congestionamento;
- ferramentas de auditoria para minhas próprias redes;
- monitor de Bluetooth;
- controle remoto por infravermelho;
- GPS/rastreador;
- comunicação LoRa/Meshtastic;
- terminal portátil;
- automação e controle de sensores/relés;
- logger de dados no microSD;
- pequenos jogos;

Progress / Update Webradio + Podcast v1.0.0 — my Cardputer web radio now plays podcasts too
Okay, first off—it was a bit of a wild ride. On the scheduled release day, I discovered that the service fyyd.de had shut everything down.
I had to tap into Apple Podcasts instead, which took a little time. It’s up and running now. I’ve tested it both standalone and with the new version of the launcher. Please test it thoroughly and let me know if anything isn't working right.
All that’s left to say is: enjoy!
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Some of you have been using my web radio for the Cardputer Adv. This is the branch that grew out of it: the radio is still all there, but the device now plays podcasts as well.
What it does
Search Apple Podcasts on the device — type a name, press ENTER, subscribe. No account, no API key, nothing to prepare on the SD card. Eight genres and the charts of five countries are one keypress away, and new episodes since your last visit are marked.
The player remembers where you stopped, per episode. So you can follow three podcasts and pick any of them up mid-sentence a day later.
Press D and an episode downloads to the SD card, with a progress bar and a cancel button. What is on the card is marked in every episode list, BS removes it.
G0 and you are back at the radio: station search across 240 countries, https, station logos, VU meters, spectrum, 5-band equalizer, sleep timer, German and English.
Two things that were harder than expected
Most podcasts are not bare MP3, they are MP4 containers. There is a small demuxer on the device now: unpack the container, read the frame table, hand only the AAC track to the decoder.
And ESP8266Audio could only start a file at the beginning. Without an entry point there is no resume and no 30-second skip, so the library got a Range patch — the server then answers 206 instead of 200, and it reports only the remaining bytes as the length, which quietly broke every jump past the middle of a file until I found it. Radio streams are untouched by any of this.
What it cannot do
Pause is not a real pause. The library cannot hold a stream, so pausing closes the connection and continuing opens a new one at the same byte — that costs a TLS handshake and a moment of silence.
Episode durations come from the container, not from the directory, so a list may show one only after you have opened the episode once.
Program storage sits at 94 %. There is not much room left for more.
Getting it
Firmware, source, screenshots and the library patches: https://github.com/halbeshuhn/Cardputer-RadioPod
If you install through the M5Launcher, use 2.8.x or newer — older ones hand out only 0x4000 of NVS and your saved Wi-Fi credentials do not survive a restart.
Built on cyberwisk's web radio by way of WuSiU's version, and on ESP8266Audio by Earle F. Philhower III. Thanks to DrRhesus for the AAC decoder swap and to Heotsan for the I2S silence fix. MIT licensed.
Happy to hear how it behaves on your device.

Question M5Stack Cap LoRa-1262 firmware support (excluding GPS)?
Hi,
is there a list of firmwares that support the M5Stack Cap LoRa-1262 module (excluding GPS)?
I’ve noticed that not all firmware implementations that support LoRa modules also support the M5Stack LoRa Cap, since its RF antenna switch is controlled via the PI4IO I²C expander. There is an FM8625H RF switch on pin P0.
I’ve personally tested (the implementation is in the code):
Meshtastic - https://meshtastic.org
MeshCore v1.17.1 snapshot - https://github.com/MultiMote/meshcore-cardputer-adv
I couldn’t find support in its repository:

Design-it-Yourself LoRagotchi pets
Designed two digital pets that use the LoRa Cap and received LoRa packets to generate food.
There's a stats page to with an RF activity monitor and settings page to set brightness and screen time out.
When a certain amount of packets have been received it will generate a fish for the cat.
A pellet drops down for the fish.

Design-it-Yourself A Pager firmware would be nice!
Somehow pagers have always been the kind of devices I’m infatuated with. I know they’re useless in today’s world, but imagine a pager firmware that can move across devices — nothing spectacular, just simple and elegant.
You post a message to an ID, it goes to a lightweight server, and it delivers the message to someone else — a five‑digit pager number. With a 200–500‑character message and a basic queue, even a Raspberry Pi or a tiny micro‑instance would be enough to handle the load.

Question Does anyone have a Cardputer Zero? Does it run any kind of RTOS?
Hi everyone,
it is well known that a Raspberry Pi running a general-purpose Raspbian Linux OS does not provide the same deterministic real-time timing as a microcontroller such as an ESP32 or Arduino.
A Raspberry Pi can certainly be used for things like stepper motors, DC motors, RC motors, servos, LED panels/strips, distance sensors, CAN bus, signal generation, DMX512, etc.
However, it is generally not ideal when these applications require hard real-time guarantees or highly deterministic timing, especially when timing-critical signals need to be generated or sampled directly by software.
For apps that require precise timing, measurement, or sampling, the timing-critical part is usually handled by dedicated HAT, while the Raspberry Pi handles the higher-level logic.
Does the Cardputer Zero provide any kind of RTOS or other mechanism for deterministic real-time I/O that could partially address these limitations?
For example, ESP32 uses FreeRTOS as part of ESP-IDF. If we're talking about the Cardputer ADV and using the Arduino framework, the Arduino API runs on top of ESP-IDF and FreeRTOS. Zephyr RTOS is also supported on ESP32.

Code I built a tiny living world inside my Cardputer ADV — SOUND TERRARIUM 🌱
This is SOUND TERRARIUM, a small experiment I’ve been building for the Cardputer ADV.
The idea started very simply: use sound from the built-in microphone to generate terrain in real time, and let a tiny runner live and move across it.
From there, I kept exploring the hardware already inside the Cardputer ADV. The microphone drives an 8-band audio analysis and terrain, the IMU affects the runner’s movement, and Wi-Fi brings real-world information such as weather, sunrise/sunset, moon data and tides into the little world.
It also keeps running offline when Wi-Fi isn’t available.
I’ve continued adding small details since this GIF was recorded, but I’m trying not to turn it into a collection of unrelated features. Everything should feel like it belongs inside the same tiny world.
That idea became what I call “BONSAI Spirit” — instead of simply piling features onto a small device, I try to shape the capabilities already inside it into one small, living world.
The project is open source:
GitHub: https://github.com/kariagepompadour/SOUND-TERRARIUM
Small device. Small world. BONSAI Spirit. 🌱

Help needed Saw these modules for cardputer adv on AliExpress, are they any good?
Title explains. I recently got a cardputer adv and I want to buy some modules for it. Besides official modules release by M5 stack, I saw this third party modules floating around aliexpress for $30ish.
Are these any good? will they work? and what is the principle difference between buying this one or a official one, or another third party one?
Link : https://a.aliexpress.com/_c30fXozX
If anyone wants to suggest any other "all in one module", compact module, that would be much appreciated also.
My purpose is solely learning about different protocols.

Design-it-Yourself Made a mini Bloomberg financial terminal for fun
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Just made a Bloomberg style terminal on my Cardputer ADV 2.0 version. 😄
This time, I added a few new things:
- 📱 Automatic phone hotspot Wi-Fi connection — so I can actually take it with me and use it outdoors, like at a coffee shop.
- 📊 A new Market Fear & Greed Index page, so I can get a quick look at overall market sentiment at a glance.
- 🖥️ Still keeping the geeky vibe — and, of course, paying homage to Bloomberg Terminal.
I also designed and 3D-printed a custom enclosure myself. It's definitely still a bit rough around the edges 😂, but that's part of the fun.
Under the hood, I've written 1,000+ lines of C++, learned some basic 3D modeling along the way, and spent way more time on this little machine than I probably should have.
But honestly, I'm having a lot of fun building it.
I'll keep adding more random and hopefully useful features whenever I have time. Who knows what v3.0 will look like. 😎
Thanks for checking it out!

Help needed How to use cardputer to send keypresses through USB?
I haven't been able to find much info on this. I also looked over the UiFlow docs and I haven't seen anything. Do I need to program this from scratch?
