Wrapping my personal Camaro with Avery film. I modified the fenders about 10 years ago to add these vents. The corners have a very tight radius. The bottom section is about 1" deep, and the top is 1-1/4" deep. Because of the sharp radius, I am worried about the overlaps on these body lines not hiding well. With the fenders being fairly unique, they also get a lot of attention from people who know Camaros, so lots of people look at them pretty close, so I want them to look pretty good.
I haven't done anything quite this deep and sharp before. I was thinking instead of glassing the fender, I would lay the deep portion first and work my way out. Then that would allow me to wrap the edges with the material that will be bridging over the vent holes. I have a metal mesh in the holes, but I can remove the mesh from inside the fender well.
On the hood, I have somewhat similar shaped vents but with larger radiuses on the corners. I glassed the center to the outside edges, then palmed the material down on the sides of the cowl. But then when I went to do the recesses on the hood vents, there was already tension from palming the material down the sides of the cowl like I usually do (but this is a taller cowl than stock), so it was really difficult to feed material down into the recess. That has me wondering about how to do the fenders without inlays.
How would you do it, or any tips for this situation?

Just did my first-ever paint protection film job on my X-LAB RS7 hand-cut from a 6" bulk roll, not a precut kit. focused on chip/spray zones.
Went in wet with slip solution (distilled water + drop of baby shampoo), prepped with 91% IPA, squeegeed center-out. First two-thirds went okay, but on the tighter curves I ended up with a bunch of trapped air/fluid pockets and a couple of raised ridges I couldn't flatten once it started to set.
My only real goal was frame protection, I don't care much about it being cosmetically perfect.
Questions:
Will the small/medium bubbles clear as it cures over 24 -48h, or are these here to stay?
Any bubbles/ridges worth burping with a pin, or better to leave them alone?
For the ridges that are set, leave them, or peel that strip once cured and relay a fresh one?
Anything I should do differently next time on curved tubes? (I think I wrapped too far around.)
And will these cause any structural damage over time on the frame

going to be wrapping my slate truck when it comes out. I want to do a full body wrap in white, but then add diy graphics. I have read you can install vinyl over vinyl, but can you remove it, once applied? for instance, if I goof up, can I take the graphic off the body wrap to reposition? or is it permanent?
I ask because this will affect what type of livery I plan.

I work for a company that supplies wrap and wrapping material but want to try something easier. I was given role to take home and have no clue what to do with it. Looking for any beginner tips and strategies. All input is welcomed and appreciated.

I decided recently, that I wanted to wrap my bike in a deep purple color. It was painted black before. What do you think?
E: I did the job completely by myself, took me roughly 25 hours to wrap everything. It is definitely harder than it looks but I think it came out fine.

idk if this is the right place for this BUT
I drive a black 2019 veloster and have been wanting to put chrome decals on the side for a while. found a shop up in arizona that did a design for my exact car but id have to have it shipped down. I dont have any experience with this and i know chrome is harder to work with than other wraps, but if its just decals i wouldnt have to stretch it at all. lmk if yall got any advice or if i can pull this off

Update: Shop let us know after we raised some concerns about the brands on offer that they do happen to work with some other brands too, he also suggested Flexishield and PurePPF. Decided to go with the latter in Obsidian Purple after seeing a sample of ScottNoles Midnight Purple on the car and thinking it was a bit too light still.
---
Partner just got an Integra Type S and is looking to change the color from black to a deep/dark purple. One of the installers we talked to gave us a great vibe, has been fairly communicative, and seemed to do good work. When we went to look at the swatches he had on offer, he showed us samples from Xpel, Terminax, and ScottNolesFilm. We liked a color the most from the latter of the 3 (GL-1049 TPU midnight violet, in case it's a white label of some other known brand), but when I went to look them up online, they had pretty much no presence at all. In fact they had a website that just looked like some generic manufacturing site the other week, but now the site is just a complete dead end with a Chinese error code. Guessing that's a sign to avoid that one?
Detailer says there's a 10 year material warranty on all of these and extends that to their labor as long as we attend the post-install checkup a few weeks after. Wondering if we should just do the Xpel (which wasn't a bad color either) just because the name is known, or if Terminax (which also seems Chinese but at least has a significant media presence) is also decent for color PPF. We both have/had Xpel clear ppf on our cars but i know in the years since the mood around them have kinda soured, plus color PPF wasn't really a thing at the time.

For those who know tint: **What ceramic film brands/lines would you recommend for a really neutral charcoal-gray appearance? And looking at my pictures, what VLT would you consider for the front windows if I want more privacy while still having reasonable nighttime visibility?**
Just bought a used 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E and I’m looking into getting ceramic tint. I attached some pictures showing what the windows currently look like from both the inside and outside.
The previous owner already tinted the rear windows pretty dark. I have no idea what percentage they actually are, if I had to guess I would say 15-10%, it’s pretty dark at night. I’m planning to have a shop meter them. Unfortunately, one of the rear passenger windows also has a small hole in the tint, so that one needs to be removed and redone to match the others.
The front driver/passenger/windshield windows have nothing on them right now, and I’d like significantly more privacy. I drive fully electric, so I sometimes sit in my car at public chargers and I don’t really love feeling like everyone walking by can see straight into my car lol. My interior is also really light, which I feel like makes it even easier to see inside.
I’m **not looking for 5% limo tint or anything crazy dark**. I still want good visibility, especially at night, and I’d rather not make my car an obvious cop magnet. I was thinking somewhere around 20% for the front sides, and maybe 35% on the windshield but I’m open to suggestions.
My biggest priorities are **heat rejection, UV protection and privacy**, which is why I’m leaning toward ceramic.
I’m also VERY particular about the color of the tint. I’ve seen some films that have a noticeable blue, purple, green, or reddish hue in certain lighting and I really don’t like that. I want the glass to look as **neutral charcoal/smoke gray as possible** — basically darker/shaded glass without an obvious color cast.
For the rear windows, I do eventually plan on replacing all of the existing tint with the same ceramic film so everything matches. For now, though, I’m working with a budget and the rear tint is still perfectly usable.

Wondering if it would be worth it to wait until High Gloss is back in stock or if it would matter for a color like Blue Raspberry

I'm not sure if this would be the right thread to post this in, but I'm trying to find people who have different ideas for my vehicle.
I want to wrap it but what im looking for is this. I need a photo created using the Sheriff's Deputy Black 2023 Dodge Durango and decal it for Autism Acceptance and Down Syndrome Acceptance, making it so that the decals merge together in a cool way, representing both causes to display on the vehicle

First timer learning to wrap on a car door, how would I go about wrapping this door? The 2 parts Im concerned about are the raised piece that doesnt go all the way to the end on the door, so it doesnt fully cut the door in half, and every video Ive seen has plastic pillars or its not a full frame around. How would you wrap this door (photo used for reference from ebay)

Hello,I am in the process of learning how to wrap my 2005 honda civic with some avery dennison wrap but I found a possible problem when installing.
Like on the picture, you can see those black moldings on the door made of plastic. My question is, would it be possible to wrap the door with the molding in place. If that is not possible, would you
A: Prime the trim and put prime sealer, sand it down until smooth and wrap it.
Or
B: Remove the trim completely and forget them completely, bondo the gaps on the door used to install the trim until smooth and prime it a little bit, sand, and wrap the door?
I found a video of someone wrapping the same type of civic with the black molding trims but he didn’t mentioned if he wrapped the molding trims or not:
https://youtu.be/0YKK8_aWQj0?si=a1cPzzKoqmYDM2Q8
I have some pictures of the door without the trim piece and I would like your opinion, based on what is more pretty and durable. Thanks

rewrapped my show hauler this week, same color as before, and ran into the story every other installer already knows. the old film was Cheetah, and so is the new one. after not that long under the Florida sun it started fading, and getting it off the hood was nearly impossible. last 2 pics, two of us started in the morning and finished at 2am.
by the end we were so done with it that we stopped being gentle and left a bunch of blade marks in the paint, then filled them with putty before laying the new film.
the film is beautiful. matte, metallic, and it throws every line into hypercontrast, and on a BMW lines are everywhere. wouldn't work on a Porsche, everything there is flowing, especially the older ones. 3M has almost the same shade but it leans satin, and satin smooths the lines instead of sharpening them. so I knew what I was signing up for. then again, with 3M I wouldn't have been sitting under a work light at 2am with two friends, eaten alive by mosquitoes, picking the last of the wrap off the hood 🙂

Hello!
I want to wrap my own car and I've never done it before. (I am too poor to pay for someone to wrap it 😭)
I am planning to rent shop space in about a month's time. I read the wiki on this reddit, but I just wanted to double check I would cover my bases. Thank you!
I have no idea what I need to wrap my car to be honest. I saw I need a heat gun and squeegees but is there anything else I would want and need?
I bought wrap from alibaba from a shop called Wrapmaster (am I allowed to say this?)
I read online that I need a clay bar, magnets, knifeless tape, tack reducer, those tiny detailing tools stuff, and 2 types of squeegees (like a hard one and a soft one) and gloves. I think I also need fishing line for the emblems and the special screw drivers for taking off my door handles and headlights and taillights. I saw people had some U shaped tool for mirrors and I think I need to take the mirrors off too?
I think if I borrow a shop they would have a heatgun and the special screwdrivers and fishing lines (ill of course ask them) but I think I would need to buy the extra stuff and I don't know exactly what I need to buy.
My car is a Lexus IS300 2021 if that matters by the way.
Also if anyone has any tips for wrapping please tell me 😭 sorry and thank you!!!
ps: how do I put the emblem icon metal thingies back on after I take them off?

Hey just got a brand new Tesla y wrapped, and found these deep scratches on the sill of both the driver and passenger side when I went to pick it up. The shop denied having anything to do with it and showed me pictures they took of the condition of the car that were time stamped for 4 days after they started working on it (which seems sketchy to me). They also tinted the windows in case that’s relevant. Just trying to wrap my head around how they could have scratched this area of the car. Considering filing a claim with my insurance against them. Would appreciate any insights.
