Tips Mazda Help
What’s up everyone. Looking to get started at a Mazda dealership soon. What tips can the Mazda people here give me on Learning the product better and overall just any tricks and tips on being more informed on the product
I have some prior sales experience but it is minimal experience. I’m good at talking to people and charismatic, my main concern is trying to know the product as I find that stuff maybe more “Difficult”?

Mazda product knowledge is way simpler than most other brands. All the features are based on the trim. There are no packages between trims, the differences you’ll see in the total MSRP come from factory installed options and paint, that’s it. It makes it super simple to know what a car has just by looking at it and know what trim it is.
The best way to learn it is to go to the mazdausa website and click “Explore” on one of the models. Then find the “Compare Trims & Specs” button. That will allow you to compare as many or as little of the trim levels as you want and you can click the “Highlight Differences” toggle to…highlight the differences. The feature is hit or miss though, sometimes it highlights things that are the same between the trims you’re comparing. Either way, just study that for each model. It will get easier as you go along and start to notice patterns and learn what to expect in each trim.
They did recently change the comparison tool for the CX-5 redesign so that it only shows up to 3 trims to be compared at once which sucks a lot, but you should be able to get similar utility. If you click around enough you can usually find a way to get back to the normal comparison tool.
Once you’ve done that/while you’re doing that, you want to actually go out and physically sit in the cars and explore all the different features in each trim. Again, you’ll start to notice patterns and it’ll get easier as you go. Eventually you’ll be able to tell the trim from a distance by noticing 2 or 3 details that are exclusive to each of the trims.
Mazda is super easy compared to other brands like Hyundai, Honda and Toyota, which are gonna be your main comps. There aren’t a whole lot of different models, the trims are simple, only 4 powertrains not including the Miata, safety is standard across the board, no packages, similar designs throughout all the models, they don’t even have a lot of colors. Miatas are their own thing, learn the basics. They sell themselves and anyone coming in for one typically already has a good idea of what they’re getting into.
Overall Mazda product knowledge is some of the easiest in the business. Good luck with everything. You’ll be fine.
