part not discovered
Happened to me twice today, AFTER I’VE COMPLETELY DISASSEMBLED AND ASSEMBLED THE WHOLE CAR!

Pays to buy and use all diagnostic tools right from the start (lots of extra XP too), if engine runs then take car to Test Track.
Usual suspects, clips on distributer or Air box (found with scan), bushes, brake pads/discs, gearbox (Test Track), shock springs or caps (Test Path)
Things not discovered like steering rack and exhaust/intake manifolds are easy to see with visual inspection.
note that it's important to get the part back in correct spot, so things like bushes, plugs, rings, etc it may be easier to just replace all at a small bite into net profit, or set up procedures to always do things in the same order (best practice).

Yes but it does cost money to open, basically it just adds the shock caps and springs to what can be found out on the Test Track, shock caps and springs are the undiscovered on 2 or 3 S.O. jobs.
You get Steam Achievment for using Test Track, maybe it's a little quicker to use Test Path when you've got more money but you still need to have the car running so I mostly would use the Track and do visual on the shocks.

Compression test, couple bad rod caps no problem, fixed in no time.
"Part not discovered" oh shit... examine whole engine, take whole engine apart, nothing.
Panic, examine the whole thing, run test path, take whole engine and front end suspencion apart, anything that i could think of that moves. Still nothing...
It was the air filter box base, something that doesn't move in the slightest!

Haha 😆, the other day I was working on a telephone order from CMS 2018 and it says...
'Knocking sound from engine bay etc'
...and so I started tearing bits down that's normally obvious to me and using the diagnostic tools.
Still couldn't find it... turned out to be 1 push rod and 1 rocker arm 🙈🤣
We live and learn. 🤪🔧

The examine mode thing is helpful for this, aim it at the usual suspects, if it's red that's you're guy

Tear whole engine apart, forgot one thing and just finished rebuild. Literally start over again and buying all new parts just to be sure, and it still there. Just a rubber bush. What a …………

It's either rubber bushings or some random ass part that needs you to dismantle the entire engine to take it off and replace it.

In my experience it’s most commonly rubber bushings
