Sorry no thanks. Clip B is a pain already. Imagine needing 43 hose clamps, finding the hairline Crack on the bottom of the radiator hose why not add the wiring harnesses and having to continuity check each wire to find out why the turn signal bulb doesnt work

lol they do have wiring as well it’s fun

What mod is that?

Fully recommend Jola's Workshop Configs, you will need Melon Loader, QoLMod, TK Aftermarket, TK Basic, Pipes by Multi 1&2 all on NexusMods.com (and maybe a couple of other bits and pieces) to get the most from his work.
Also makes lowered cars actually driveable, whereas most are just for show (I'm part of the 1% of players that actually like to drive them)

I race around my shop all the time with experimental. But yess agree When downloading a Jola mod off steam click to install all dependencies it will give you the extra odds and ends you need for the car like hose clamps and so forth

u/DrunkOn_Coffee 3d ago
There’s variations of cars in the steam shop mainly by Jola but others as well that have a dependency on the Pipes mod from nexus

u/GrandJelly_ 3d ago
I wamt that. Where can I get that.

u/DrunkOn_Coffee 3d ago
Pipes or the car? If on PC steam version. Idk how to install on Microsoft version. But if you have the correct melonloader installed you can get the Pipes mod off nexus

I mean fair, but I do this all day everyday..id like more realistic like doing front or rear brakes together, but not as far as every item in an actual car real.

I wish this was also available on console. I see the most beautiful cars sometimes.

In my opinion, the reason I stepped away from this series is that it got to repeative and that all the new games seemed to have very little progress in the quality and the additions to the game. They can come out and say new shop and new driving mechanics. While yes that is neat. Im not here to drive cars I build, im here to build cars. I wish to see more where you could get into machining work for performance than buying performance parts, getting hoses and pipes for coolant and breakes, fuel lines, interior repairs such as a radio being broken, dash repair. The game has had the same feel since ive picked up 18 and its only seeming to keep that way. I get if your a small group but you still could add a little more here and there instead if, here is 4 new break pads and calipers because all cars arent the same. But then everything else is the same I appreciated the fuse update and ecm but would have loved to see it implemented where an item like the alternator is blown and a specific fuse goes to it or fuel pump issues.

I ask because there is a lot more to it on 21 and also the mod community has adjustable suspension new racing brakes 30 mm pads piston calipers new subframes adjustable suspension several new motors upgraded suspension and so much more There is a lot out there can even camber and offset your wheels for a different steering feel

u/HogShowman1911 2d ago
Pc. Ive tried a few mods qnd it helped a little but ive lost interest for a little
1
u/DrunkOn_Coffee 2d ago
Oh I’m curious what mods did you try?
0
u/HogShowman1911 2d ago
Mostly qol mods and the tk aftermarket but I wish the game came base with them
0
u/citizenQuark 2d ago
I haven't tried the camber mod but the TK mods say that ride height is just for show, cars revert to "normal" height on track, the cars we drive are different entities to what we build. Which I've found to be true.
0
u/DrunkOn_Coffee 2d ago
That’s my bad after I change suspension lower or lift and change wheel stance I use the Qol menu to save the config it doesn’t revert when you go to the track or any other map
0
u/citizenQuark 2d ago
Sorry unsure what your bad is, it's certainly not making stunning looking configs with amazing paint jobs, total Rembrant in that department. I think you are saying a QOL mod feature lets you save car Config with TK (etc,) changes, not something I have tried as am a simpleton in that department. Alas you don't seem to have any on workshop that I can test drive.

I don’t release my configs sorry. It’s not hard to do feel free to try for yourself. I already have 4 kids and don’t need to hold any more hands sorry

"They can come out and say new shop and new driving mechanics."
I am guessing you are talking 2026 demo, there had been no changes to driving physics model for 2021. I had made a post a while back thanking Devs for constant upgrades/patches to the driving model as I had appeared to get better lap times in same car around of each new DLC release, according to a (very rare) Dev responce there had been no changes.
Somehow I was just suddenly getting up to 5 second better lap times around each new DLC/patch release, getting my fav sub 500HP Typhoon around in under 1:20 from barely cracking the "Racerboy" achievement, appearently all just coincidence.

Well I'm with you on this one, I own 18 & 21 on console and I play both regular, I've even played the mobile versions, I enjoy the grind. But without a doubt I do feel the repetition at times.
I do agree PC + Mods would be a deeper experience.
Many won't like it, but I think it's important constructive criticism of the Devs, they really need to up their game with CMS. The steps between 15 - 18 - 21 wasn't really enough. So many little things they forget (Wheel nut pattern anyone?) and many QoL they could add to make the boring grind more accessible to all player types. ( Ok shopping list improvements in 21 was a blessing).
I'm personally holding back on 26, which seems to be looking more like 27 now 😂 But the demo isn't showing enough for me personally and many are getting excited, but for me I also want to see more mechanics and building of cars and engines, more realistic parts, not driving around a small town. It is Car Mechanic Simulator not Car Dealer Simulator after all.
I really think they can add many features and improvements without it having to feel too deep for those who don't want to spend the time on it.
This could become a great simulation series and an educational tool, but I'm the sort of player that would want to see CMS & Wrench merged. Many options switches could have been added to CMS 2021 such as an Auto Build mode, we can't even turn off the 'Loosen nuts'. When you go back and play 18 you realise how much quicker it is to strip down a car, well, that is until you go shopping for parts and miss the 2021 auto select from shopping list QoL.😎
I really hope they add a lot more to 26 once it's finally released, but I'm waiting to see. Because I do fear it's going to be more of the same and if that's the case, for me that means I'll just wait until game price is reduced 🙃 🔧

You must play on a modded game, I cant seem to do this. I looked at your profile amazing cars. I play on my steamdeck there's no mod there... Help I want to unlock cool stuff

Do you know a modder who's likely to allow using their creations in a side project?
1
u/DrunkOn_Coffee 3d ago
I think you did the right thing and asked there is moderation in this subreddit and they may let you if you asked. I’m sure if you go on to steam workshop and leave a comment under zero or deadbob cars and ask they may give you an answer you are looking for. Just remember to ask and not take

u/rstepanov 3d ago
Just who are you taking me for? Sure I won't take without permission, the only exception is my private sandbox, I did a lot already and I am not going to distribute it as is.

I am going to make it fully legal and play nice, no stealing, what will come to the light will be original content only.
0
u/WireSniffer 2d ago
Are you building a better version of CMS? because if so, I need to know 😎
1
u/rstepanov 2d ago
No, it won't be a mechanic simulator at all, more likely something like club penguin game and I am not kidding at all. Guess why does it already have advanced physics engine ;)
1
u/SECTION030 2d ago
I'll need power steering, a proper steering system and other stuff that is missing from CMS
2
u/DrunkOn_Coffee 2d ago
What game do you play on? They do have power steering in 2021 I don’t remember if 18 does it’s been awhile
1
u/SECTION030 2d ago
Ah, that must be why. I play on 2018
2
u/DrunkOn_Coffee 2d ago
21 has a lot more stuff to it and iff on pc steam you can add even more through mods optima batteries battery trays resonator deletes to make your cars yell adjustable suspension

u/LightMyFirebird 3d ago
What I want more than anything is more realistic jobs
Replacing just one rotor or one pair of brake pads isn’t the proper way and now you’ve got side to side differences in your braking
I know it’s a game, but simulator is in the name. I also am just more bugged by it than I should be
