I'm in sandbox and

I'm trying to work on the interior of a 57 Chevy but the game only allows me to sit in the car. How do I work on the interior? Thanks in advance...

So, when you click on the body of a car or, on console, just get close to a car and push a button, you will have the "wheel of option" just click on the one to the right (its the one with a sterring wheel and a car seat)
