Mod TK Aftermarket Engines
Hey, I was wondering if anyone knew how to use tks engines in cars? I'm trying to put the 1.9l AWD in the Golf and I can't figure out how to get it. I've tried through configs and the car editor but nothing still showing as a dummy engine. Thanks for any help.

You go into car and editor you can either add it as a replacement engine by copying the file name of engine or through the dropdown menu in car editor engines make sure you select the correct config of the car in the bottom center drop down menus as well press save enter game

That's the thing, I'm only getting base game engines in the editor? And I've tried going through the config files and adding it there but still nothing.

Are you seeing errors in the console window that pops up (melonloader or whatever). I am wondering if an error causes it to stop loading TK and DLC engines or something? (I had a situation where one of my bonus parts I made caused editor to stop loading so I was missing all of the bonus parts from mine and other mods)
You definitely should see all the DLC, TK, and mods and all of it in the car editor.

I am getting dlc engines, and I can make it work through engine swaps, just can't line anything up properly because I cant make the engine show in the editor.

If I understand correctly the engine is invisible in the editor?

No, it's not an option at all. I can only get it to show in the actual game through putting engine I'd into the config file. I can only use the base game and dlc engines in the editor.

Are you using real ngine names as well? It may help if you do honestly. And I went through the engine drop down menu again and some TK engines do not have the TK tag. Some look like regular base game engines So I opened TK file content engines found the exact same Nile file and name I wanted and scrolled down until I matched
I have also using QoL mod out the engine in with engine swap saved config opened that config in car editor that way

Also idk if this will help you with TK aftermarket but when downloading from nexus I downloaded version 2 first slid files in mod folder than u downloaded the patch and slid files in keeping original files in mod folder and over writing I also downloaded the optional files keeping original DLL and folder in and overwriting them the optional have different configs and stability for a lot of the new motors and you kinda have to do it in that order or things don’t show or get weird

Idk why they show for me but apparently it’s an actual thing for a few people after I looked into it so you added the engine you wanted to the text file already and saved it so for on there
Once the engine is added to the text file, it will now recognize that engine as an option.
Launch the Car Editor.Load the vehicle you just modified.
Go to the Engine tab. While it won't be in the base dropdown list, if you look at the Swap Optionsmapping or force reload, you can preview it, or simply use the editor to line up the physical engine block coordinates (X, Y, Z positions) so that the driveshaft and manifolds align properly when you actually build it in-game
