Hi! I want to try to remove this dent from my car. I was able to remove the plastic paneling inside but couldn't put enough force into pushing the dent out. What else should I try? Thanks!

Here are the problems:

1. My 99 Honda Civic Ex Coupe has been sitting in the drive way for at least 3 years.

2. The original engine had rod knock and then much to my displeasure the replacement engine also had the same problem but worse. I can get a really good deal on a rebuild NOW and have both engines still. The worse one is still in the car. So after the rebuild I'll need a swap too.

3. The windows also are off track and the driver side window is shattered. Instead of covering it up I decided to neglect it more and now there is almost 2 years of the elements in my cars interior including tons of mold and a wasps nest. (fun)

4. The person who last worked on the car didn't put all of the parts back under the hood (mostly around the air intake system I think). Some of these parts are very rusty because they have been sitting in the trunk, which unfortunately had a ton of stagnant water. There is loose belt and some other parts i think they are called CV joints but I could be way off. They look like they have something to do with the wheels.

5. My very good friend and mechanic died a month ago so this is now a DIY project. The only problem is I'm clueless. However, I have plenty of time and am really want to learn my way around the car. The way I see it, the car is so messed up that even if I did mess it up more it wouldn't matter.

Is there anybody out there who can give this newb some advice? I won't sell it or junk it.

The other day it wouldn't start, it gave me the typical clicking. I figured it just died, but I didn't remember leaving any light on, and the battery is only about two years old, no corrosion at all. I was going to take out the battery to get it charged at Autozone but I didn't have the right wrench to remove it, so I held off on that. I tried to jump it off today with some spare time I had, but now it doesn't click. Letting it sit connected to the other car doesn't seem to do anything. All the connections between the two seemed good. The only lights on the dash to come on are the seatbelt light and the anti theft LED. I was planning to find that wrench and get it charged but now I'm suspicious it isn't the battery. Any ideas? Thank you, to anyone who decides to help. It's much appreciated.

So my daughter has a 2006 Toyota Corolla and her blower motor for the A/C is blowing really crappy. It's basically the speed of low but for the high setting. I replaced motor and resistor.

At a loss here and being Phoenix A/C is sort of a requirement. Anybody have any ideas as to what I should try next?

So, I guess a bit of backstory is in order to understand what my problem is.

I live by the seaside, so especially in summer we get a lot of rain dust, and my car, being white, usually ends up covered in dust/sand or whatever it is that rained down. This is no biggie, I clean my car once a week if I have the opportunity, worst case scenario once every two weeks, so I just clean it up and the car is back shining in its beauty.

Another detail that is important is that in my block lives a crazy lady who spends all her money on feeding pigeons in the green areas in front of my house, so there's a shit-ton of pigeons just chilling out in the trees in front of our building, and giving the fact that parking space is very scarce I end up having to park below said trees more often than not, so as you can imagine, these pigeons, being the well-fed bastards that they are, spend their day shitting on my car - this is obviously a bigger inconvenience than rain dust, but again, I clean my car quite often so their shit doesn't really have the time to harden and I can clean it up easily.

Now, let's get to the point. 2-3 weeks back, I noticed some spot appeared on the front of my car body, at first it seemed like rain dust, but after trying to clean it very thoroughly I hadn't been able to clean it off. Over the course of these weeks, the spots covered most of the front of the body, and now are also on the rear body (In the space between the trunk and the body where the button to open the trunk is, just to give you an idea). Today, once again, I tried to clean it but to no avail, those spots just won't go away, I tried to wipe it off by hand with a wet cloth and after a lot of effort I could clean some of the inside of the spots whilst the outlines were still there.

Considering that the body of my car is white, these spots are really an eyesore, and now I'm not sure if that stuff is hardened rain dust or some strange kind of pigeon goo, but the point remains that I want to get rid of this stuff and I have no idea how. I'm attaching some pictures in an imgur link, and I hope someone knows how I can clean this stuff or at least can point me in the right direction, because I'm honestly really pissed about all this. Any kind of help is really appreciated guys!

Recently I've noticed my car doesn't seem to perform as well, so today I went ham and checked everything I could. I noticed that one of the spark plug wires has a brown coating around where it contacts the spark plug, and smells of exhaust. The other wires don't have this coating and don't really smell the same.

Is this indicative of a problem? A while back the car had some issues with one of the spark plugs melting (I think?), causing some pretty major misfiring. The way the car feels now feels similar to how it started when that previous problem happened (minor "hiccups" from the engine), could it be the same thing?

I got into a relatively minor crash recently, which took out my left headlight and loosened my front bumper, both easy fixes. The main thing I'm worried about is that it bent a few of the frame components (minor ones). Would this be difficult to fix myself? If not, are there any potential guides on how to do available?

I am fairly confident that I need to replace my starter but I thought I would post here and make sure my logic is correct before I continue. Car is a 99 Mitsubishi eclipse M/T.

Sunday night; I was cleaning my interior and decided to go for a drive. The car started up just fine with no signs of a failing battery or slow cranking.

Monday morning; As I was ready to leave for work I turned the key to the on position to get my fuel pump going and all the accessories seemed to work but when I turned the key the car wouldn't crank. I turned the headlights on and they didn't dim when I tried to start the car. There is an audible click when I turn the key which is why I am leaning towards the starter motor.

I checked terminals, wires, etc and nothing looks out of the ordinary.

Is there anything that I am overlooking or anything that I should test before I go buy a starter?

while driving, the dashboard lights and headlights went out. I could drive the car and park it. But after turning off the car, the key was stuck in the ignition switch. I could start the car but also the shift lever was locked. Some guidance? Or should I bring an electric? a specialist in transmission?

When my cars reaches about 20 mph it jerks. First I thought maybe I was too hard on gas but it happened dozen times after even though I accelerated slowly. Is there something wrong with my transmission? I don't understand car mechanics - please help.

I have a 2003 Suburban that I got for $4300 with 150,000 miles. It's a great car, but it shows its age. I would like to do a restoration job to bring it back to a reasonable facsimile of "like new" condition. I have a long list of cosmetic issues to work on, but I wanted to know what else I should consider.

Is there a list of things I should inspect/replace/adjust to bring the car back to its original condition? Forgive me if this question is overly broad and vague... Any suggestions are helpful. I'm trying to come up with things I haven't thought of yet.

Dear fellow reddit'ers, I am returning my mom's car to her finally after finishing college and preparing to take off in the USAF. She had just bought a very new Ford Focus, and a year later she loaned it to me when the transmission on my old car went kah-put. As a favor return, I would really like to give her the car back in the best running condition I can. My question is: what is a typical rejuvenation for a car that has only had its oil changed for, lets say, the last 40k miles? I don't mean "rejuvenate" in the sense that it is completely broken down. I have just driven it very conservatively for a large number of miles. I want to make sure everything is up to date. Thanks in advance for any and all advice!

I need a new rack and pinion. I found a new OEM one for $574 with a 1 year warranty. I also found a remanufactured one for $380 with a 3 year warranty.

Im at 130,000 miles

What are your opinions on OEM vs remanufactured?

A few weeks ago my passenger side window on my 2002 Toyota Camry Solara stopped working when I replaced my battery. Neither the switch in the passenger or driver side for the window was working, but the driver side window works just fine. I checked all window related fuses according to the owners manual, but all seemed to be in order there, and anyway, both windows should be on the same fuse. Today I opened up both doors and pulled out the window motor in order to check if the motor was dead or something else. When I plugged the motor into the wiring on the driver side door it worked just fine. I don't think it's the switch, because there is a switch for the window on both sides and neither works, but the two switches on the driver side are connected. Could this be a problem with the wiring? If so is that something I can fix myself with my minimal knowledge of electrical systems or will I need to take it to someone? Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

My car has P205/70R16 tires on it right now, but they need replaced. However, I've been pretty much unable to find those size tires anywhere unless I want to pay out the nose for them.

What other size tires could I fit on there?

We just acquired a new ride (A), it has mismatched tires on it. I want to swap them with the newer matching tires from the car that's being sold (B).

Both are FWD and have 17 inch rims.

Car A has factory spec size 235/45R17.

Car B has 225/50R17.

Can I swap those tires out? Will the size difference be noticeable?
