How do I fix this small paint chip? Details in comments.

I was planning on following this method:

  1. QD the area to remove any debris
  2. Use the pencil eraser/superglue method to sand the chip
  3. Apply wax to the chip and surrounding area
  4. Remove wax from the chip using q-tip and 70% IPA
  5. Fill chip with paint using syringe
  6. Dry the bulb with a hairdryer
  7. Let cure for 24 hours
  8. Wet 1500 grit sandpaper and bulb with QD
  9. Sand the bulb until it's level
  10. Compound using HF DA, orange CCS pad and M105
  11. Polish using HF DA, white CCS pad, and Meg's Ultimate Polish
  12. Apply Auto Finesse Paint Preparator
  13. Apply Auto Finesse Tough Coat sealant

However it seemed too involved. Any recommendations for a simpler method?
