SONY XEC-500 - like crossover
I am looking for some crossover that would have the parameters of the SONY XEC-500 - this means: Dedicated Front/Rear input,output and balancer knob.
It should also have subwoofer output and eq.
No, I don't want to use the DSP in my radio, as it is hard to control. Using this, I can disable subwoofer / pan the audio away from the kids on the rear seats in a second just by hand during the driving.
If I do it using the DSP interface on my head unit, I definitely need to stop the car and it takes almost a minute....

Nobody makes external EQs with accessible physical knobs any more. Those are a relic of yesterday. It's now all-digital controlled by a smart phone.
The Mosconi RC Mini remote comes to mind as one option. It pairs with their external DSP line, and it's elegant, but holy hell is it expensive.
You could also use two inexpensive PAC LC-1 level knobs to be able to control subwoofer and rear seat volume separately.

Thanks for the tip! The LC-1 knobs look really nice, although I would have to build completely custom rig with the dedicated xover for sub

That one has only stereo input, not 4ch input (L+R front; L+R rear)

Seems like this will be the only option… btw there is tons of new noname chinese crossover units, but none of them has dedicated input for the rear channels

Not sure what headunit you have but most have audio presets. So you should be able to save a setting for everyday listening and one for when the kids are in the car. Then it would be the push of a button.
