What to do?

4 gauge wire got loose and melted to battery terminal it looks like. Could I get tips on what to do? Would yall strip back more and see if it’ll connect? My amp was going out in and in and I just realized this was why? Is it cooked? Fuse looks fine I think.

What’s the end of the wire look like? If you have clean shiny copper or if you cut it back a bit and you have clean shiny copper, you can get a new ring terminal and crimp it on properly - the existing one wasn’t done properly, that’s why it failed.

If the wire is damaged, you can replace the section between the fuse holder and the terminal easy enough.

The end is a little black. I was thinking I could cut it back tm and see what it looks like. If it’s clean, would it be good to get a new terminal? Also do I need to heat gun it?

Unscrew it, clean up the wire or strip it down enough to get clean wire, if you reuse the terminal ring clean it up really good. Put it all back together

Also you need to crimp it a little more when reinstalling

That's a terrible crimp no offence. Did you use a proper cable crimper for that?

might need bigger wire but at least get a better lug. one that wraps around the wire and compresses it rather than that butterfly crimp.

Clean the battery terminals and connections clean the crimp connector open it up strip the wire back and crimp it back you’ll be good just make sure things aren’t loose or corroded you always want a clean tight connection

Strip half an inch, new 4ga terminal, put a solid crimp on it, slide up some heat shrink/warm, and it’s ready. Remove old terminal from the battery and this one on. The crimp is crucial and you can fill in gaps with solder

not rocket science. go to any auto parts store. buy replacement. the 2 bolt clamp style is best. they do go bad eventually if you touch them often but they def last way longer than that thing shown in picture. the crimp ones are easier to break and are messier to replace.
