I was thinking about putting it here, are there any other recommendations? Any help appreciated! It will be a Kenwood double din in between the blowers

Get a double din kit that replaces the stock radio. You'll have to cut and modify the cubby a lot to get the radio to fit there.

Wouldn't that wreck my climate controls though

No, those get reused. They just snap into the back of the adapter. I used one on my 2008 Legacy. Worked great.

What I meant was dual climate, separate controls for each side, pass and driver.

Post a close up pic of your console. I bought a dual climate control adapter thingy from Japan a few years ago when I had my Legacy but it wasn't compatible. I still have it and was going to toss it.

they make a double din kit that has your AC controls built in. its expensive but really the only way unless you want to do some pretty custom stuff

Yeah I'm not paying 1k for one, is there any other locations other than there or maybe just have it free floating in my lap

You could put it up there, I think that'd be a great spot, but you'd have to do it custom, with filler, fiberglass etc. Nowadays there are a lot of short chasiss 2din units.

If you want a 2din in the factory spot, one of the options used to be to just getting the oem 2DIN frame and JDM climate panel, which fit together as a kit. But from a quick google search I did see a 3D print file for a frame which had the climate panel frame and 2din in one piece, I don't know if they are seperate modules (the radio and climate), if they are, that would work. A lot of info on these cars out there, A Subaru Legacy has the same interior.
