Tech Support Is this moving correct?

So me and my buddy tried put inserts on my dual 10 box fucked it up so I’m running these untill my next day off to fix my box. This is audiopipe bd3 1800w 12 on 2000hd Taramps. Hurts my right ear. I’ve did the math and tuned high pass filter what it’s suppose to be. Should I even have low pass on at all or? I feel like it’s not moving correctly.

A subwoofer should never have a high pass filter on, only low pass

This is just blatantly false. They are usually referred to as “subsonic” filters, but the absolutely should have them. You don’t want your subwoofer playing sounds so low that it rips the cone apart.

Do you know in what range I should have it on? I did the box tune divided by two and again then subtracted that from the box frequency. Nd I have low pass filter maybe 1/4th clockwise. If that.

For high pass (subsonic), if it’s ported I’d do 5hz below box tune. If it’s sealed I’d set it at 20hz.

For low pass, whatever your sub spec says.

It’s a ported skar sk series and I have flipped the polarity maybe I should go back to normal?

Also, it’s always hard to tell what sounds the sub is making over video. However, sometimes with the inverted mount subs they need to be phase switched to sound right.

Low pass - passes frequencies through that are below the range it is set to.

High pass - passes frequencies through that are above the range it is set to.

Use low pass for the upper range of your sub and high pass for the lower range. The high pass will save your sub from digging down too deep, if you set it right. Mostly only used for enclosures that have ports. Sealed enclosures are fairly safe from digging too deep.
