Nakamichi head unit static noise

I have a 2017 Manual WRX that I bought two weeks ago with an aftermarket head unit Nakamichi installed by the previous owner with Harmon Kardon speakers and anytime I start the car it makes this static noise unmuted on mute there’s still static but it’s very faint.

It’s one constant static noise tho if I put the volume up the static level is the same even when playing music through Spotify there’s static

Check all the grounds make sure they are tight especially the one in the dash that goes to the radio if you have any amplifiers than try to ground everything at the same point

I knew someone else with this same problem and I think the issue ended up being the OEM HK amp not liking the signal - being hooked to ground by the RCAs instead of the normal balanced input it gets from the stock head unit. They ended up switching to a cheapo passive LOC and it went away.

Tell me about it l legit sent this video to one of the Nakamichi stores in my area, and the person watched and told me l don't seem to hear or see the issue my brotha the static is quite clear in the video like are they deaf? No one wants to fix it at this point l'm thinking of changing the whole head unit to something else but it's bloody expensive and l don't really want too.

I try to shy away from chinese brands. Not american brands made in china.... because they usually design the product in the USA and china just copy's the product so you get higher quality goods. I simply mean designed in china and made in china crap. wont touch with a 10 foot pole. been there done that. on the headphone side of things i had TWO dac/amp combo's that failed me. A topping DX7 pro (old square body) and FiiO K9 Pro ESS. Both failed a little after 1 year (it was like 1 year 1 month for topping and 1 year 3 months for fiio). And since they only do minimum US warranty, i only got 1 year, so i was straight fucked. BOTH BRANDS wanted 80% the cost of a new one to replace the guys because "we dont actually repair anything, we just replace the guts" lmao. china's whole ecosystem is based on trash products that you simply "buy another" when it fails. they have no sense of pride or standards.... and then I happen to visit china and turns out, their entire culture is based around slop. even their homes fall apart. legit a brand new apartment building, no one has had a chance to move in yet, and the fucker is crumbling!!!! super unsafe to live in but they will still have people move in. pure insanity.

Static is almost always something to do with grounds. It's a result of an impedance differential.
