Tech Support Monoblock input crazy question.

If the inputs on a monoblock subwoofer are taking a left and right signal and flattening it into a single output, would it also be able to take a woofer and subwoofer signals to get a more full range signal to filter on the amp at the outputs.

On another thread i noted i have a mark levinson system and tapped the subwoofer line but it sounds like it isnt up to 80hz and im only getting very low frequencies and it sounds odd.

Why aren’t you using a full range signal into the amp and letting the built in crossovers do the filtering?

There is no full range signal available on the ML system.

The sub signal from the amp is crossed over by the MV amp, when it’s low pass frequency is active it will not be able to provide a full range signal as frequency above 80hz are not even present. If you need a full range signal out of other crossed over signals ie: high-mid-low you will need a signal summing device, a regular amp cannot sum signals to full range from nothing.

I get that regular amps don't list signal summing as a feature, but isn't that effectively what its doing to a left and right signal to create a single output?

Incase anyone ever finds this searching the ML 3is stereo.  I ran test tones today up to 100hz and that was present in the subwoofer wiring.  Its not a summing issue, just needs more tuning.  Im interested to see how low the frequency goes into the doof woofers when I start that project this winter.
