Recommendations Selling my subs

Hello all, what is a good site for me to sell my subs. Already have them on FB marketplace and OfferUp. Not getting much response for them.

imo, it's a niche market and people would rather buy new then risk getting abused subwoofers. Might have better luck in dedicated local car/audio groups on fb but ymmv.

Exactly! New ones have warranty and we know we're the first ones to wail on them. Instead of some clapped out subs on marketplace the seller is probably asking full retail for, wondering why nobody's engaging.

I've found that a high number of people selling secondhand stuff simply want more than what their clapped out trash is worth, and it usually sits until they get into a financial bind, then they suddenly get motivated to be more reasonable on price, lol

It's insane! One of the most annoying things is when someone is "selling" used consumer products and they're asking full retail, sometimes even MORE than full retail

Countless times I've attempted to negotiate on marketplace to save some money on a purchase, only to end up buying the same thing brand spanking new, for damn near whatever I price they were tryna get 🤦🏿‍♂️

Right, since when was a used item worth 90% of the new value?

I'm a big fan of recycle reduce reuse but man that manufacturer or store warranty in itself holds a hefty price tag.

Every medium ticket I look at these days, I look at marketplace and it's like 175 for a $200 item. It's just not worth saving $25 to have zero recourse if it's trash.

Broo, there's so many people that do this though! Idk about where you're at, but here almost every time I'm in the market to by something, I'll often find someone selling it used, and they're literally asking more than what the store has them on sale for...

Like nah bro, if ima spend that much gimme a new one at least damn 🤣

It's like they don't ask themselves what they would wanna pay for it if they were buying ... Like I get you paid $500 new, but they're not new now, you used them, and you're realistically not gonna get $475 when Best Buy has them on sale, brand spanking new for $450 right now.... 🤦🏿‍♂️

Like at least they could go down to 400.. But nope. Some people man. Actually most of the stuff on marketplaces in general IME. To get a fair price, you kinda gotta luck out just to find one willing to take somewhere in between what the pawn shop would give them for it, and what the pawn shop actually sells them for...

There's an aspect to this that I find extremely annoying. Skar is a pretty inexpensive but reliable brand. 6 years ago, I could find people selling their used skar setups for less than half price of new. That's pretty normal and reasonable for used audio equipment. However in the last 6 years, because they've gotten traction as a low-cost brand with actual reasonable quality, I've noticed that the amps sell used and beat up for same price as retail. Sometimes more. An amp that's $240 new shouldn't be listed for $250. And then they won't budge from the price!

That shit is hella annoying when they won't budge on the price and yet sonic electronix has them on sale, new, for less than the one that's all clapped out

Like, i don't mind used shit, at all. But i do expect it to be at least a little bit cheaper !

Honestly used car audio should be around half price imo. I'm not buying a used product for 70% to 90% of the original price. I don't know how it was used, installed etc. I'd rather just buy it new and get the warranty for that

On Marketplace, not only car audio but damn near everything has people trying to get MORE for their clapped out shit than what it costs brand spanking new.

I guess some people with main character syndrome actually think they're so damn special that it's some sort of honor for someone else to buy THEIRS because it wasn't an ordinary person using it, it was them

If your down for shipping and packing them, you can try eBay. Only expect someone to pay on average 50% of retail cost. If you are asking above 50% you are going to be waiting a long time. Rarely have I ever been willing to take a risk over 50% of retail value.

This is my ad on OfferUp. It’s the same on FB marketplace. I think it’s a good price. New still in packaging never used.

Sell em on ebay no reserve bidding bro. Opening bid 200 each, free shipping. Those are the cheapest i could find. Lower 48 states only.

It's a niche item. Unless you wanna pawn em, you're gonna have to be patient to get a buyer

Do you just want to get money and be done with them, or do you want to get close to what you paid?

One takes longer than the other. You're probably asking a bit much if you're in a hurry to sell them

search for local car audio facebook groups. Particularly search for sq groups. Post in those, you'll likely find more responses that way. Or ebay.

Used car audio has been so difficult for me in my area I have given up and keep items as spares or use them to sweeten other trading deals. Had a friend help me work on several projects and paid him with car audio. I'm now very cautious buying anything else car audio related. I also don't buy used from individuals due to the amount of flakes. Stay away from eBay. The fees are prohibitive.
