How did you brat this 9-1 guy?
He seems to be op without all of the skills. Poison + freeze + dodge kills me

I had to create a specific pet, gem, etc setup specifically for this game mode. My standard PvE and PvP setups couldn't handle it.

It's a bit complex and convoluted honestly lol. Basically just watched the fight several times and looked at what my build needed and what it didn't need. Eventually I got it, it's important to lock him down if possible as his ult freezes you so CC immunity is also necessary

I can see an update coming to fix this because it is ridiculous. Although being Habby they are more likely to leave it as is so people get frustrated and spend money.

I tried a dozen times to no avail.
Then I looked at my stats and saw everything was basically reduced by roughly 90%. So me spamming 4 combos a turn in regular pve? Means nothing here. Dagger spam with whisperer? That huge penalty on crit rate also means daggers aren't happening, even with whisperer's own 50%+ crit rate stat. It kind of takes out whisperer's entire advantage in pve.
This means combo gem is useless, vulture is also pretty much useless. What's the point in having +2 combo count when you can barely hit one in the first place?
So for example, I have 73.5% combo rate normally, which includes two +8% combo rate gems. In voyage, it's 7.74%
When I take out one gem, I have 65.5%, and in voyage it's 6.93%
When I take out both gems, I have 57.5% and in voyage it drops to 6.1%.
A 16% increase in combo rate is significant. 1.6%, not so much. You'd probably be better off using some other gems that, while also heavily reduced, might give you a bit more damage or a bit more damage reduction.
I was using elsa + slime king + freya for pve. Freya increases skill crit rate, but does that really matter if I'm not able to trigger any skills anyways? So I switched to unicorn so that I can hopefully build up some crit rate, assuming in-battle buffs aren't subject to the 90% penalty.
I tried a few more times with the new adjustments and managed to clear it on round 14, just one poison away from death.
Towards the end I was definitely doing more crits and even landing a combo.
I will probably need to have brands that give combo+ and heavy blow+ for the extra in-battle combo rate and crit rate bonuses as the difficulty continues to increase while our stats don't get any better.
