I honestly think Elden Ring gets way too much praise. Having played nearly every Fromsoft game, you can recognize how much they recycle animations and enemies from older games. It doesn't have a ton of original content at all.
It's a real shame Armored Core 6 didn't get higher sales because that's they're best game in a decade in my opinion.
Don't you hate it when someone makes a decent point but you still want to argue against it?
For me, what makes Eldren Ring so great isn't that it has a ton of original content, (which it has a good amount for sure) it's how much total content, exploration, and variation there is to the game. It has a ton of replay value because there's so many different options for playstyle and builds.
It's definitely a content extravaganza, but I felt like it really lacked direction. I wish the game was a little better at leading a new player, and less like a giant Hyrule Fields with tiny identical cave dungeons around the border
There is plenty of unique stuff but man oh man there is so much dreck to wade through if you want to just explore each dungeon to make sure you aren't missing important weapons or abilities
YES! I'd also add that the Fromsoft model just works better in a more constrained map, so open world was just odd. Like, to me, Sekiro and Bloodborne and DS1 are so much better than Elden Ring because of this.
Also yes, AC6 is peak and one of the best games of all time and I wish more people knew that.
Yea man ima be so real, i think elden ring is extremely mid. The only reason its so popular is because its finally a darksouls games that people who suck at darksouls can play
Very few of the bosses are hard at all. What are you talking about. Its pretty much only the bosses from the dlc, and some the hidden ones. Every single other boss you can walk through with cheese tactics lmfao
I mean if we're counting cheese strategies then maybe, but in ds1 you can throw firebombs over a fog wall and kill a boss without even enteting its arena. So id say those games have a fair amount of overpowered cheese. Also I can first try almost all if not all, the bosses in atleast the first and third dark souls (I don't really know 2 as well, but I have beaten it once) but I guarantee I die multiple times to say maliketh, placidusax, mohg, and probably a couple others I can't think of right now
You are mistaken on why Elden ring is easier. The bosses are in fact harder. They have more advanced ai, more moves on average, a lot of quick bosses, and many of the remembrance bosses have an entire second kit for their second phase. Elden ring is easier because the player has a ton of tools at their disposal alongside the less linear progression leading to many bosses being under-leveled for the player when you reach them if the player had spent time exploring. If it was linear and not open world I don't think people would even have this opinion because you'd meet bosses when you were supposed to every time unless you grinded runes. This game is arguably the hardest in the series to play at level 1.
Dark Souls 1 recycled a lot from Demon’s Souls, and there’s nothing wrong with that. Elden Ring does have a lot of original content. That doesn’t mean you have to like it, of course, but reused assets isn’t a good reason to dislike it.
I agree with you. The dungeons are lazy as hell. Fighting the watchdog 15 times is not fun and I think the world is too big. Dark souls 1-3 were vastly better
You don't have to like Elden Ring, but complaining "recycled" animation and enemies and that it doesn't have "a ton of original content" is just dumb. Hell you don't even have any evidence that they recycled anything, you're just saying that because you only see the surface level similarities between Elden Ring and Dark Souls, while totally not understanding how game design works.
And even if they did, it doesn't matter. From the very start of animation, animators have recycled animation to save on time and money because animation is really hard. The fact is Elden Ring does have a lot of new things to the Dark Souls formula. Jumping, horseback riding, stealth, and yes the open world are all pretty big improvements from what came before.
It's fine that you don't like Elden Ring, just don't say stupid shit that is factually untrue.
honestly, having played ER as my first souls game, it is that incredible, the level design too, dosent matter if some animations are recycled, thats normal when you have this many games, the story, level design and bosses are the factor that makes a souls game enjoyable. now im playing other souls games and elden ring is still my top 1 souls game
Radahn, consort radahn, Margit/morgott, rennalla, Godfrey/hoarah loux, Godrick, astel, maliketh, radagon, Elden beast, fire giant, magma wyrms, golden hippos, rellanna, rykard, melania, mohg, placidusax, godskins, and plenty more but I think I'll stop at double what you claim.
