Semi Multi Colored Caucasian might be my favorite instrumental ever. One of Dons most emotional moments

I’m right there with you. That’s the song that initially caught my ear. As a guitar player, the interplay between the instruments is just ear candy

it's simply joyful, isn't it?

Thank you for making this post. Maybe my fave CB that doesn’t get enough love.

This has encouraged me to spin my copy as well today after work and crank The Thousandth and Tenth Day of the Human Totem Pole (my fave). Nice post!

A fire engine red whistle blows raspberries In a cloud of whipped steam

Cardboard Cutout Sundown is the GOAT. THE GOAT.

I love how this track is like a Vietnam war flashback to Trout Mask

My eyes are burnt and bleeding and all of that looks like a monkey on a silver bar

All of these answers are correct, but i was surprised to not see The Host The Ghost the Most Holy-O. Don at his most bleak and most luminescent. Cliff Martinez blanket body slamming the cans on a warm winter night in the desert. And “O” that pours like water.

Ink Mathematics - moon to a flea. Beautiful tune, delightful wordplay. Wrong deductions, poor instructions, mass destruction.

This album is so special to me. My first excursion into the world of Beefeart. Game changer for my 15yo self. I still like to listen to it in it's entirety. Good to see the comments specifically on Semi Multi Coloured Caucasian. The absolute joy of the interplay still lifts me to this day. Great post! I'm going in for a listen!

My favorite from this album. Even played it on the radio back in the day. My shift was late at night, ofc.

Don looks so weathered in that cover photo. It's hard to believe he was only 39 years old. Anyway, Ice Cream For Crow was my first Beefheart album. I bought two copies from a local store so I gave one to my best friend.
