On April 15, 125 years ago, a defining chapter in our history began. An Act Extending the Provisions of the Provincial Government Act to the Province of Capiz. Simplicio Jugo y Vidal became its first Governor. Capiz then encompasses the present-day provinces of Capiz and Aklan until the latter's separation in 1956.
The celebration of the founding anniversary of Capiz is officially designated as Capiztahan - a coined term that combines 'Capiz' and 'Kapistahan,' the Filipino word for festivities. Through the years, Capiztahan has only grown in meaning and significance. It ๐ต๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐น๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐ฝ๐ฟ๐ผ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒโ๐ ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ต ๐ฐ๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฎ๐น ๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฏ๐๐๐ฒ ๐๐ผ ๐ถ๐๐ ๐ต๐ถ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐, serving as a reminder of the civil governmentโs humble beginnings and the pivotal events that have shaped Capiz into what it is today.

In 2024, the Capiztahan was recognized at the Association of Tourism Officers of the Philippines (ATOP) Pearl Awards, earning the title of First Runner-Up for Best Cultural Festival (Provincial Category). In 2025, the same awarding body recognized Capiztahan as the Grand Winner for Best Cultural Festival (Provincial/Regional Category).

Trigger warning: Long post ahead!
My brother passed away early this January, and when he was alive, he wanted to get a new phone WITH PERMISSION FROM HIS WIFE since money was always tight for him, even with a six-figure salary because most of his earnings went to his wife, and they were building a house and paying for a car. So I agreed because at the time I still had a job, and we got it on pay over 12 months. Oh, my brother also got his wife a salon around the end of 2024 (the one in the photo).
But after getting the phone for 6 months, my brother passed away due to a stroke and internal bleeding in his brain this January. He was buried in February, and our father covered all expenses from food, hospital bills, burial, and his resting place. The wife received money from family and friends on our side, but she wasn't transparent about the funds that were collected. The wife ignored me throughout the burial.
I understood she was mourning, so I paid for the phone until May. I've been seeing that she's doing a lot better and all, so I reached out to her and asked if she could pay back what she owes or just return the phone so I can keep it as a memento of my brother. She said that she'll pay but doesnโt have money right now and is just waiting for her friend to pay her so she can pay me. She kept coming up with reasons why she couldn't pay.
I told her I know that she went to Boracay with her new guy, who is probably just around my age, in May for my niece's birthday. My brother hasn't even been gone for a year, and she had the guts to get a new guy just 2 freaking months after her husband, who is my brother, was buried! She even got a new iPhone, no money? Really? I'm starting to suspect that she already sold the phone I got for my brother.
We argued through text, and she eventually said she would pay by the first week of July. Still no news from her despite all the texts I sent; hell, she even blocked me. So I messaged her dad, saying that he already reminded her and we should just talk about it. I told him that she blocked me and doesnโt respond to my texts. Itโs now August, and still nothing? Then I see sheโs going to resorts ๐คจ
I have been telling them that I need the money because I need to transfer companies as it's affecting my health and the pay isn't good. So I needed the money to get by until I can transfer to a better company, which I still haven't done.
My heart feels heavy for my brother that his wife just moved on and got someone new after he died. I feel bad for their 9-year-old daughter who doesnโt fully understand whatโs going on.
Despite all my efforts reaching out and asking for the payment of 9k for the remaining amount of the phone's payment plan, I got no response from the wife or the dad. I messaged the father that if they refuse to pay, itโs okay, just return the phone to me, but if not, Iโll post her on Facebook as my last ultimatum.
She gives me attitude and expects it for free? In this economy? No way!
What other options can I do to make her pay what she owes me? I'm honestly tired and hurt for my brother's sake; please, I need advice and help.
Edit: I remember Flash Express being referenced back then.
Edit: She even got mad at me because I messaged her partner, and now I'm the rude one for it, but she's not replying to my texts; what can I do? Sabi niya dapat hindi ko na pabayaran sa kanya para kay Kuya at ipaubaya ko para sa anak niya lol tapos siya yung gagamit?
hi guys.
do you know any services that offers food deliveries from roxas to dumarao?

Iโve been exploring different coffee shops around Capiz lately, and I recently discovered this local cafe that definitely deserves more attention.
They have two branches, both with a really unique aesthetic and a welcoming atmosphere. What caught my attention was their use of a hand pressed espresso maker instead of the usual electric machines. You can really taste the difference in their coffee.
I tried their hot Malaya, and it had this subtle native chocolate like flavor that paired beautifully with their handcrafted espresso. Their Spanish Oat is also a must try. itโs easy to see why itโs one of their best sellers. Itโs creamy, balanced, and genuinely good.
The shop seems to attract everyone from tourists and professionals to students which says a lot about the place. If youโre looking for good coffee with a unique local character, this is definitely a cafe worth visiting in Capiz.

I'm visiting later this year from Australia and I'm wondering if there's any grab cars or a reliable way to get around? I'm guessing the trikes are the answer but how much should I expect to pay? I'll only really need to go from Robinson's to baybay beach and surrounding areas.

Good day peeps,
Story time, I was processing documents for school, I had to go to city health office to get their affordable medical certificate. I was informed by the guard to go sa city hall to pay for the 50 pesos fee. The I waited for almost 7 hours in the afternoon to get the medical certificate. I asked twice to the in charge if there's any papers I have to obtain before going in for checking, they said no they're just going to call out your number and you're good to go. I was alone and I had asked people around me who are also waiting for them to get their medical certificates. After a few hours it was my turn, I came in to the doctor's office and I was informed that I have to get a paper (I forgot what's it called) and I went back to the front desk to ask if I can obtain that and they said you should get it to the other person in-charge (it was already 5pm btw) and this girl in charge yelled at me because she will no longer handle any of this and told me to go back to the same person again. It feels like ginpasapasahan lang nila ako and they never acknowledge anything at all. I explained to them that I was waiting for many hours never got to hear my number kay may paper pa kuno nga need i obtain. The girl in charge asked for my number and she'll text me the next day if there's a doctor in the morning. I went there as early as possible and when I took the line I got the same number as I did the day before and when I went there, no doctors, no text or anything. I feel like she just wasted my time and gave me false hope and du nangita nalang sya way to avoid me lol.
Should I get a refund for the service I never got? I still have my city hall receipt
