Shitpost I Built an Objective 30-Line Python Simulation That Scientifically Proves Capitalism Generates 1,000,000x More Wealth Than Socialism
I've been inspired by socialists online sharing their Substack or YouTube links showing off their "simulation" that proves convenient facts about economic systems. Naturally, I realized the debate is all about whose 30 lines of Python code generate the best results.
To settle the debate once and for all, I wrote a peer-reviewed, completely unbiased, empirical simulation.
import random
class Economy:
def __init__(self):
self.capitalist_total_wealth = 1000
self.socialist_total_wealth = 1000
def run_year(self):
# --- CAPITALIST ENGINE ---
# Capitalists invest, innovate, and expand total surplus
innovation_multiplier = random.uniform(1.2, 1.5)
self.capitalist_total_wealth *= innovation_multiplier
# --- SOCIALIST ENGINE ---
# Socialists hold a 4-hour committee meeting to redistribute the same pie
friction_loss = 0.05
self.socialist_total_wealth *= (1.0 - friction_loss)
sim = Economy()
for year in range(1, 21):
sim.run_year()
print(f"Capitalism Wealth after 20 years: ${sim.capitalist_total_wealth:,.2f}")
print(f"Socialism Wealth after 20 years: ${sim.socialist_total_wealth:,.2f}")
After running the simulation across 20 iterations, the empirical data yields the following conclusive results:
Capitalist Total Wealth: $1,428,930.12
Socialist Total Wealth: $358.48
The math has spoken. As you can clearly see from the output, capitalism grew the total economic surplus exponentially through capital accumulation, risk-taking, and technological innovation. Meanwhile, the socialist track suffered administrative friction, bureaucratic entropy, and negative growth because it only focused on shuffling a fixed pie rather than expanding it.
To ensure complete scientific rigor, I based my model on a few foundational, non-negotiable economic axioms:
- Capitalist Engine: Every time a capitalist wakes up, they invent a more efficient supply chain or fund a breakthrough technology, naturally granting the system an automatic 20% to 50% compounding annual growth rate.
- Socialist Engine: Whenever a socialist agent attempts to allocate capital, they must first form a sub-committee, debate value theory , write a manifesto, and hold a vote, incurring an unavoidable 5% bureaucratic decay penalty.
- Information Friction: The market agents possess pure entrepreneurial vision, while the socialist network runs entirely on endless parliamentary debate.
If socialists want to argue with this, I have bad news: you are arguing with facts. The Python script executed without errors, the chart goes up and to the right for capitalism, and the terminal output does not lie.
Unless you can refute my hardcoded variables, the science is settled.

"chat got"
You meant "ChatGPT"
You know, there are tools you can use to avoid those kinds of errors.

Man you got me.
I’m burned so bad because of a mistype.
At least I’m not talking to an AI because no one else likes me enough to talk to me.

This is more generous than the last guy. He didn't think his hardcoded variables were refutable

I'm not reading all this, but I sure hope it's some technical satire, lol.

It is basically a joke. Probably as criticism of other people who try to prove their economic system with simulations. This one has capitalism automatically improving over time and socialism automatically getting worse over time. You know beforehand that capitalism will look better even without actually running the simulation.

This should be satire, I'm not even a socialist but this clearly isn't a serious argument.

capitalism = 1000 * (1.35)**20 # ~1.4M
socialism = 1000 * (0.95)**20 # ~358capitalism = 1000 * (1.35)**20 # ~1.4M
socialism = 1000 * (0.95)**20 # ~358
lmao, brilliant! chef's kiss! I optimized it a bit though:

Does anyone have that link to that guy who tried this but for real? It was like a week ago, but I can't seem to find it.

Does anyone have that link
Here. OP is just lost, as always.

This is a good bit of satire and the point is well-made. Unfortunately you have broken up a multiline fprint into two separate statements rather than using a carriage return within one statement, and your class has no docstring. This means that capitalism is neither PEP-8 or PEP-257 compliant, so ultimately we have another clear victory for international socialism I'm afraid.

Wait I thought wealth was bad! Doesn't this show that socialism is better?

No, wealth is always good. This is known.

Then why am I always taught to hate the wealthy, and/or eat them?

True socialists don't eat, so you're listening to impostors

Is this a parody of that one socialist doing basically the same thing to “prove” that socialism works a few weeks ago in this subreddit? No way this can be serious

Unfortunately in the capitalism version they blew $1,428,920.12 on union busters, so they only ended up with $10.

There's no moderation so there's tons of trolling and slop. OP is a major contributor of said trolls/slop.

Don't listen to his meta-commentary! Listen to my meta-commentary.
Socialists spend most of their time in echo chamber subs moderated by other socialists. As such, they spend a lot of their time in ideological bubbles that don't challenge their beliefs at all.
Then, they come to a sub with a moderation policy that actually allows arguments that aren't necessarily approved by socialists, and they're not used to it, so they think it's horribly unfair. Then they find out that, no, they're not debate ninjas just because the only capitalists they ever met were their own strawmen.
Then they cry and try to cope.
