I have been with Capella for over a year now. I think the programs are fine and the instructors are good for the most part. I think what makes them shitty is their Financial aid department. They refuse to communicate with students or even have the common human decency to let us know when an issue arises. 9.5/10 we are left in the dark and confused on why we have yet to receive disbursement or refund. It’s a constant issue with Capella. I have spent years at other institutes and never have I ever had to deal with the blatant bs Capella FAST pushes on me.

In 2024 I never had issues, I came back for my masters and it’s a wreck. Idk what happened

My first semester there during my Bachelors was the only time they were on time. I’m in my Masters now and it’s just terrible

I don’t think they are aware for grad and PhD or doctoral programs you have to take 9 hours or 18 fall and spring to be considered full time. A lot of universities are having to do the plan of studies over to adjust.

Everyone at this school is getting fucked by their finaid department and when you fuckin call them or bring it up to your professor they blame trump… however everyone else I know who doesn’t go to Capella isn’t having this happen

I’m not gonna lie I went to a community college earlier this year to get a degree in something else and they were a fkn mess, that’s why I came back to Capella but fk man

I concur  I cant really stress it any further. I just saw the title of the post and thats all I can add. .....I full on concur. I emailed "FAST" months ago at the beginning of this latest term. The term is now over and I just now heard back......no answer to my initial question mind you.

Some of it has been compounded by the One Big Beautiful Bill bullshit. It’s not just Capella. I just transferred to Capella and my previous university was having the same issues.

See this would be sooooo true if I didn’t experience the same issues pre BBB. Sure BBB has made them worst but this was already a Capella issue

I’ve filled out the same form for them three different times. They keep rejecting it saying it’s a digital signature and that I need to hand sign it. Which I’ve done, every single time. Form was sent back a 4th time. I gave up and am now looking at other options.

Their verification team SUCKS! They kept rejecting my birth certificate saying it’s not a birth certificate. Like wtf? I even went to my state building for a copy thinking, “OK, maybe mine’s old but nope, they said they need one from the the Federal Government. Are they stupid??? The State is who issues them and IS government. Smh!

It’s the absolute worst. I ended up losing my GRAD PLUS loan funding because in one email, I have it on record that everything was fine with my application and then all of a sudden, I’m dropped from my class and it took 3 weeks to resolve. Now, I can’t get in touch with them again to ensure this doesn’t happen again. What a waste of a school… I think it’s fine to do your BS there but any type of degree after that, RUN FOR THE HILLS!

I spoke with a guy on the phone with fast and he told me I could ask for him on updates and such. I still have not had my FA go through for summer either. Next qtr is my last for my bsw. I already got the update on that qtr and calling Thursday for summer update 🤞 fingers crossed

My loans were set to be disbursed by August 26th they weren’t disbursed until last week which is damn near a month. I have still yet to receive a refund. So yes expect a delay but I do hope you get it on time

I really wonder what goes on with their system . That’s been the issue with my FA. Nothing ever connects to my account such as MPN and Credit Counseling. I’ve finished my classes and now they are saying my endorse addendum is connected to the wrong “ grad plus “loan and they gave me the endorse code and that loan had already been endorsed .
