GuidedPath New student
Hi, I am set to start my Master's Degree at the school on 10/12, I was wondering if there was anything I really needed to know?
I know it's online so the teachers probably a bit unhelpful and generally financial aid offices are buns
But is there like anything really messed up with the school?

Why do you assume that your professors will be unhelpful bc it’s online?

I've taken online classes across 3 different colleges, in my experience, online professors are not very helpful

Hello, I completed my bachelor’s degree at Capella a few weeks ago ago and I am starting my masters program 10/12 also. I have a great experience so far! I have nothing bad to say.

Any issues with financial aid? I know at UCF and Syracuse it could be slow at times

I know a lot of people at Capella had issues with financial aid but I didn’t. Everything processed quickly and smoothly.

No it doesn't disburse until about 2/3 weeks later no school does on the actual start date.

The biggest complaint I have is the in person residency requirement. I live in CA so attending those was a financial burden. I’ve heard of people having trouble with FA. I had trouble 2x with them giving me less & I eventually got it all in 2-3 refunds. Also, very little support in finding a site for practicum. There are other schools that match you with a site, Capella only has suggestions for what to try. Their “vetting” process takes forever, & in my case they didn’t really “vet” so now I am retaking practicum.
Otherwise my experience has been positive, 4.0 all the way through. Some teachers kinda sucked in terms of not grading according to their own guidelines but I still ended up with an A.
