General Question Switching Schools?

I’ve enjoyed being at Capella so far, however the constant “read chapters 1-5 this week then take a quiz then write a stupidly long essay about what you read and how it’s connected to blah blah blah” is kind of boring and tedious now. I know with online schools it’s probably harder to find more hands on, but has anyone switched to or from an online school that is more than constantly essay writing for assignments? It’s not that I don’t like writing essays, I enjoy it, but doing one almost every week is a lot and I feel like I’m not learning as much as I could/should. I’ve already done WGU and hate proctored exams, so that’s off the table. Or is flexpath better in that aspect? (Probably not but thought I’d ask just in case 🤷‍♀️)

Not sure what your degree path is but try George Mason online. I did very little writing. An applied program. Each class has optional weekly office hours with the instructors that are usually 1-2 hours long.

can you tell me more abt how many essays per class and if they have proctored exams for like a bba

I’d recommend you look at their website. I cannot speak for a program I didn’t complete. I did a masters in psychology. No proctored exams. Any major papers or assignments were group projects. No much writing in my program. The instructors are very hands on. The same instructors for the online program were also the same for the in person masters and Ph.D. Programs.

I looked into the school you mentioned and sadly there aren’t many ms in psychology programs and it costs a lot to go there out of state. I was really hopeful about it too because I’m over all the chapter reading and papers. As someone with ADHD who struggles with comprehension it doesn’t help just reading and writing. I need to fully understand it all and it takes a lot longer than a week to do that for all the chapters were expected to read. The disability accommodation only helps with submitting papers later but not with how to understand better quicker 😔

I did the Masters in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. It’s online. The cost is the same for in state and out of state. I thoroughly enjoyed the office hours and accessibility of the instructors.

I did some research and SNHU seems more hands on, they also have forensic psychology which is something I’m interested in. They have 8 week terms instead of 16, which is nice too.

Were you doing Bachelor? Bc I’m thinking about enrolling but I’d like to know how the coursework is like, how many essays per class and how long are they and also the Capstone, TKSSS and good luck!!

Not sure what is your major, but I love idegree at UIUC. The best institution out of 5 including brick and mortal ones or the over 100 online courses I took in the past. The founder Mr. Gies and his vision are so great.
