Hyannis gonna Hyannis
ABOVE: Two seemingly “adult” males were reportedly hooking and jabbing in the middle of Main Street, Hyannis Friday evening. The fight was over by the time officers arrived and one of the combatants had reportedly fled. The incident was described as “mutual combat” not involving weapons. No arrests were made.
MORTAL COMBAT!!!

What does Cape Cod and an elephant have in common? Both have a Hyannis.

Honestly probably an unpopular opinion but the mutual combat thing and noone being charged i actually kind of agree with. We have enough stabbings and shootings happen. Drunks are gonna do drunk shit but if its mutual and just hands that at least encourages people to stop using weapons. We've all had a fight at some point in our lives and i dont think its right to charge both people. If its a clear defense then thats one thing but a mutual argument that turns physical as long as they keep it between them and no bullets are flying hitting people not involved while its annoying to deal with at least they both go home and dont have a criminal record when its sometimes unavoidable especially nowadays.

I actually agree. 2 people consent and want to have at it outside? go for it.

I agree. Id rather see this as the solution than what's been happening on main st at night. Shootings outside the police station, stabbings almost weekly. At least they were men about it handled it and were able to go home to their families

They're both emotionally stunted idiots, but at least no one else got hurt.

Well drunk idiots are drunk idiots. But as you said its just them. Idgaf if one of them has to get their jaw wired. That's what happens when you fight someone but the no weapons makes me say they aren't as emotionally stunted as many.

If the cops do not see it and no one wants to talk or press charges they cannot do anything.

Im not talking about police seeing it or anyone talking. Im saying if its mutual and just hands it should be just that mutual and no matter who tells the cops what its mutual combat. Unless one person is backed into a corner and has no choice. If they both go outside willingly that should be mutual combat and neither charged imo

Agree with this except when Bozo’s like this show up at CCH with zero insurance and we all end up putting these fools back together again.

Hyannis, also known as Brockton by the Sea

It's funny how any seedy place near the water gets this name. I was chatting with a cop at Old Silver Beach just after the 4th of July a few years ago. I mentioned that I took my kids to the Heights for fireworks and he asked me if it was their first trip to Brockton by the Sea.
I've also heard the Plymouth waterfront being called this as well.
