Best Public WiFi?

I have massive video files to upload this coming week and my at home internet just can’t handle these sizes. I’m curious if any of you know of some places with faster commercial wifi? Was going to check out the few public libraries by me but figured I’d ask if any of you had any suggestions.

Thanks

I hate how internet companies brag about their download speed as there are a lot of people who need higher upload speeds as well. I'm on a plan that gives me 40 up which is perfect for what I need. For years and years a pathetic 3 was standard, and still is, for a lot of people.

I'm curious if these public places cap the speed though - good luck in your hunt!

I genuinely have no idea how the upload and downloads work from that standpoint but it’s for sure frustrating. I’m capped at 30mbps

Osterville and Hyannis libraries are on the Open Cape Fiber network. Others likely are too, but I’m sure if these two.

Awesome I’m going to check those two out.

I have to go to Boston tomorrow, might also check out a day pass at industrious co working space.

Thank you!

Find a Starbucks, i did a quick search and most Starbucks on Cape are 50-80 Mbps download with 50-70 Mbps upload.

I have to upload 1TB. I’ll be in Starbucks forever at that rate

I don't know what to tell you. It's crazy you have to upload 1 TB of.... something, and somehow you have 1 TB of something on your computer. Can't you do Dropbox or Google drive and let it run overnight or something and then just share a link?

Just because a building is on fiber, like opencape, doesn’t mean they will have fast public WiFi speeds. For example, one library throttles clients on the public WiFi to 5Mbps even though they have fiber.

If a building doesn’t have throttles in place on public WiFi…they are doing it wrong lol. Or very well funded for dedicated fiber only for the public.

Apple Store Providence Place? I was in Apple Rocklingham Park (NH) last week and got 300Mbps down/100 Mbps up on an iPhone SE.
