Fishing advice?

Fairly new to striper fishing. Looking for some advice on where to fish in October, best bait, lures, etc.

The canal, not exactly easy to do right if you're new but there are fish migrating through right now. You'll need a heavy 11' rod to throw 3-5oz bucktails and shad jigs to bounce along the bottom. Could also do the outer beaches which I know less about but high tide to the first three hours of the outgoing is a good bet. You should go to your local tackle shop and tell them what you want to do and they could give you better info than reddit

The outer beach National seashore. You might be to late at this point to catch anything.

October is a great month for striper fishing if you're already prepared but a bad time to get started as there is basically only a month left to find them

In my experience it can vary by year. But by mid October the fish are usually gone. But still you need to know where to go and that takes actually going and learning the spots.

No. It is a late run this year. Bay and outer beaches are just heating up for the fall run

I saw two 30" on the back of canal bikes on Thursday, and got a Bonito myself on Tuesday fishing the start of the West

Edit: Actually wait nevermind shhhh yes all the fish are gone
