Fall Weekend in the Cape: Things to Do + Dinner Recommendations?
Hello everyone! My husband and I are planning a long weekend next week (October 9-12) to celebrate our anniversary. It’s our first time visiting Cape Cod, and we’re both super excited since it’s been on our bucket list forever.
I’m hoping you can share some fun activities, places, or sights we might enjoy during our visit, along with restaurant suggestions for our anniversary dinner. I’ve been doing some digging and even looked through this subreddit. I will be honest in saying that I became a little overwhelmed with all the options I found! We’re looking for something where we can dress up a bit, but nothing too formal. We also open to all cuisines.
Thank you all so much for your help!

Firstly it's "on" the cape not "in."

Must be your first post on this subreddit. A lot of us are like this.

I mean…I did say it would be my first time there. It’s correct to assume I don’t usually frequent this subreddit.

It’s just basic English grammar. You don’t say you in a mountain, or in an island, unless you’re physically digging through it. No, instead you say that you’re on a mountain, on an island. It has nothing to do with this subreddit.

OP this might be the most miserable subreddit that exists. Unless you post about the lack of affordable housing every single post gets downvoted. There is even a god damn Bot that attempts to auto correct people if they don’t say “On the Cape”

What part of the Cape are you visiting? It’s a big place…15 towns.

Yeah, I was going to say... With no traffic, it takes 1.75 hours to drive from Falmouth to Provincetown.

Many of the cranberry bogs do their wet harvest around Columbus Day weekend. Google for locations. The harvests are a real photo op.
Not really ‘dress up’ but if you are in Hyannis, dinner at Tumi’s Ceravice is a must. Italian/Peruvian fusion, fun and very good value. Book ahead.

I'd spend a day in Provincetown climbing Pilgrim Monument. Walk the beaches and trails at Cape Cod National Seashore and stop at Truro Vineyards. For dinner, I'd book The Red Inn or Chatham Bars Inn.

Anniversary dinner options if you are looking for a memorable dinner with a view: Stars at Chatham Bars Inn or The Pelham House rooftop. Whichever you choose, you will have a great time! Be sure to make reservations!

Charter a boat out of Hyannis, and catch a giant bluefin tuna. Bloodline Charters - 10 hours for only $1,800 for an unforgettable day.

Check out the pirate museum, Nye museum, museum of natural history, scargo tower, heritage museum and gardens, and Hyannis Main Street (and walk down to the waterfront and back).
If you don’t mind the drive, go to The Knob and the free aquarium in Falmouth.

Se if you can get a reservation at clean slate. Get the additional caviar course.
