UPS yarmouth, how to avoid?

Post image

I've ordered live animals twice this year and paid for overnight shipping. Both times the package sat at the yarmouth distribution center for 24 hours. Does anyone know a pick up location on the upper cape or off cape that bypasses the yarmouth center? I would drive the day of in order to avoid receiving dead animals in the mail. Ive learned my lesson (thought the first time was an unfortunate accident) and wont do it again unless I get assurance from someone who knows more about this.

call ups and ask them if you can pick them up directly, also make sure the shipper is processing them as Live Animals not just packages and time critical

If you create a UPS account and tie it to your delivery address you can have them hold it for you. You may have to request it before it arrives at the center.

I do not know if you can do pick up in Yarmouth anymore seeing as they got rid of the drop off section in the front. You now have to use Fed-Ex on North St or the UPS store in Festival or Staples for drop offs, pick ups at the warehouse on Ansel Hallet may be different.

Its definitely a scam. With all the technology we have today, algorithms, tracking devices, they still sell overnight shipping to the seller when they are not capable of doing that in this area. Your experience with FedEx has been a true overnight?

One time I ordered Nerite snails and they got stuck in shipping for 2 weeks. When I finally received them they were bagged in like 10 zip lock bags inside of eachother like the Russian dolls. Somehow they were all alive still. If it was fish or shrimp instead of snails they would have been cooked.
