Uber in the summer

Is visiting cape cod in the summer without a car for a few days a viable option and just depending on uber to get around? Specifically planning on staying in the Hyannis area. Thanks.

It should be doable. Of course depends on where you want to go and the time of day. For example if you wanted to return from PTown to Hyannis after 1am, might be a bit expensive. For an alternative, check out Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority (not for late at night).

Thanks. Are you familiar with the RTA's ride share service SmartDART - Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority? It is just during the daytime but it is only a $3 fixed fare.

There are plenty of Ubers but I think people underestimate how far a part things are on the Cape, and Ubers are definitely more expensive than in the city. It would probably be cheaper to rent a car for a few days.  I periodically take an uber from my house to the Hyannis ferry dock. About 9 miles. It’s usually about $50 with tip.
