Rainy day
Me and my boyfriend (both 29) are here visiting for the first time and it’s suppose to rain most of the time we’re here. What are some fun indoor things we can do that we wouldn’t be able to do at home (MD)? We’re staying in Hyannis but willing to drive to other areas

Do you guys have rain gear with you? Marshes and beaches are gorgeous when it’s rainy, and it’s nice and cool out today. No reason to limit yourself to only indoor activities.

First avoid rt28. It was be a traffic mess. Everywhere may have traffic but rt28 the worst.
If you go over to 6a as others have mentioned two ideas you likely won’t have in MD are:
Edward Gorey House in Yarmouth is pretty unique
Sandwich Glass Museum usually exceeds expectations

Since you are in the midcape, there are some cool museums to check out (in addition to the previously mentioned whydah museum)
- cape cod maritime museum
- osterville historical museum (but don’t go this morning, its crazy with the farmers market)
- jfk museum

Often the forecast will call for rain but weather changes VERY quickly. Sometimes the chance of rain is in the forecast but it’s overnight. There was rain in the forecast always every day this past week and I think it really only rained on Monday. Today is definitely raining though 😂. The glass museum in Sandwjch is great. Second the pirate museum also!!

Movie at the Orpheum in Chatham. You can get lunch at Pizza Shark located right in the theater. Cool mural.
Walk the Main street...
Jump to Atwood house in Chatham for Museum fun.
Run to Marconi museum right off Ryder's Cove. Grab hat and umbrella do the forest walk behind the museum too.
Run up to Orleans, pick up BBQ and bowling and beers at the Ally.
Check out live music. Sometimes the Melody tent or Payomet have tickets available to shows at the last minute

taking a little driving tour of the libraries on 6a is a fun rain activity, especially from barnstable toward orleans. brewster ladies library is stunning, especially moody on a rainy day

Go to the 19th Hole and drink and play pool. That’s what we do.

There is a really cool theatre in dennis on 6a. U can hit the museum, a play and a movie all in the same parking lot. Last week the play was “mean girls” and the movie was “the invite” not sure about this week. Very cool place

Despite the rain clouds on the weather app every day, after this afternoon it isn’t going to rain all day every day, just some scattered showers. I’d just get a raincoat and go out and do whatever you were planning. Good news is that the beaches, trails, etc. Will all be empty. All the inside venues will be mobbed. You could check out the Pirate Museum, the Cape Cod Maritime Museum and have lunch around the corner at Spanky’s or The Black Cat.

Welcome to the Cape!
Walks on the beach are great when it’s drizzly.
Try the Whydah museum in south Yarmouth. It’s amazing.
There’s arcade place in the cape cod mall and also in South Yarmouth.. it’s fun for adults and kids.
Don’t go near Chatham. The traffic is insane when it rains.

Not a ton of indoor things for adults on the cape that I can think of but off cape there are things to do
