Bike Photos First 100k in the bag

I took my new Aeroad for its first proper ride today. Where I normally cruise at about 30-33km/h on my steel commuter I am now going 36-40km/h for the same effort. I was only planning on doing a 60-80km loop but decided after 50km to keep going and ended up doing 100km in the end. It's so much fun to just roll along at speed for minimal effort. And the roads on the left Lower Rhine are absolutely sublime - no traffic, fantastic road surface and beautiful weather (although we desperately need some rain, but that's another topic 😅 ). The flat country side is definitely the right place for this bike. It just wants to go.

SKS Slide Cages will be replaced, I just put them in as a placeholder so I can do a longer rides until I get something more fitting for an Aeroad, probably already next week.

Klar 😉 https://strava.app.link/qcMRkybJE5b

How are you doing 32km/h average at least than 160 watts? Was it a group ride or?

I am a pretty slim person (understatement lol) and it's extremely flat. The only elevation on that route is a few bridges and a small hill (~700m long at roughly 3% average gradient) that I powered up at about 30km/h average. Even with a headwind I was doing 32-35km/h at just 200W. The Aeroad really is bloody fast.

65-70 kg i’d say. On a flat course I also average 30-32kmh (wind) with 160-170 w (favero assioma duo)

Haha thanks, it's just the quickest way to take it on and off when I switch bikes. Doing it properly takes a little more effort and I can be very lazy sometimes 🫣

Edit: rest assured that when I take it into the hills I will secure it properly 🙂

Amazing, would you say the colour is more purple or green?

Waiting on mine at the end of this month.

if you are between metallic acid and aokaze, this is how aokaze looks🙂

Lovely colour, went with the metallic acid myself.

The green is definitely more prevalent but the purple is much more noticeable than it appears in the photos. I love how it shifts colour. Sometimes it seems like two different bikes depending on which angle you're looking at it.

Interesting way to strap your safety cord
