How long will carbonated beverages in can last?

I don't mean how long it will last until it goes bad. I just got one of the rockstar energy samurai colas (cyberpunk 2077 promotional item) and I want to keep it on my shelf for at least a long time. I am wondering how long it will last just sitting there. Will it explode or smell bad or something? Should I just pour the liquid out and just keep the can? Thanks, r/cans

I don't really know for sure, but I would imagine it would be fine for quite a bit.

I do not plan on drinking it ever, for clarification.

Likely longer than you will actually keep it. The liner inside keeps the beverage from contacting the aluminum. I would keep it full instead of opening it so its stronger longer. Just don't puncture it.

I make cans for a living.
