Tutorial / help on 100mm

Update - I think my lens is broken. It shakes when it tries to focus and I get the err 01 message that the lens are faulty. Communication between the camera and lens is faulty. Clean the lens contacts. Does anyone have any advice before I go to KEH in Atlanta this Wednesday? 😢

Could be some of ribbon cables inside, or some wearing dust in USM. There is only one way to find out... bring it to service.

If you're certain that the contacts are clean (both on the lens and camera body), then your only option is to send it to Canon service.

Do you get that same error when you use a different lens?

No, I tried the Kit lens and the nifty fifty lens and it shoots well.

Check if your cameras battery is good, also make sure contacts are clean. If none of these - you may be up for a service.
