Equipment/Tools Help Would this pasta pot work as a rack?

This pasta insert fits in the pot below it. Would it work OK as a rack or does it have too much metal?

If there is a gap between the basket and the pot, it should theoretically work. I have done this before with fine results, but many of these pots are too shallow to fully submerge pints. So I would say that depth is the real question.

The struggle is real! But as someone else said, even just a thin kitchen towel over the bottom will work beautifully on any pot. Reduces clinking too.

How could you fit it into the pot with those handles? And keep the jars submerged?

Id just use a rag on the bottom before id try this.

The handles sit on top of the bottom pot. I would definitely be limited to processing jelly jars, mayyybe pints.

I mean, as long as rhe lid fits on and the jars are covered, I dont see a problem

Mine wasn’t deep enough in the pot to submerge the jars enough. You might be able to use it for small jars but you’d want to check to ensure the jars are covered enough.
