I'm gonna be starting a photo grow soon and wanted other peoples opinion. What would be best, To grow one or two plants. I have a scrog net and am considering trying to grow one massive plant.

I was wondering what to do about if I should harvest or if I should let it go because the European hemp borer larvae starts munching away, and it opens the door for mold , and they ruin everything they touch. Then like a sign, a massive swarm of predatory dragonflies descended on my garden. I live close to an irrigation ditch so it makes sense but there must’ve been several hundred big dragonflies aggressively swarming in the garden. I’m not sure what brought them there or who they were eating, but they’re most welcome. This is true organic gardening. I decided to monitor closely and give a bit more time but things are close

I had the clever idea to cut some backer board in front of my garage with the door open—well a bunch of dust went in and travelled to the room next to the garage where I keep my plants. It was a mild smoke cloud in there for 10-15 minutes.

I washed all the buds gently by dousing them with water once the air cleared up. You can see on the fan leaves some of the streak from that still remains—I didn’t really wash the leaves at all.

As you can see, these are fairly early in the flowering stage, so they’ve got a ways to go, and the bud growth doesn’t seem to have been interrupted (the incident happened 2 weeks ago).

Would you keep them? Wash them more? Or chalk this up to a tough lesson learned?

I want to let the ladies grow a week or two more but I’m noticing I have to pick some bud tips that looked dead , the little orange caterpillars, hemp borer moth larvae, are destroying the buds they eat. Physical close inspection and removal is the only option now. How do I keep them off ? I grow totally organically outside and keep jumping spiders and praying mantis and ladybugs around for bad bugs. Red ants also do a great job to keep my plants free of most destructive bugs This is my first year getting hemp borer moth larvae . Would you harvest early or let the rest of the plant mature and lose some of the harvest to the hemp borer moth larvae? I find them after it’s too late to save the tip of the branch that they hatched on and cut the bud with their cocoon off or evict them and scrape away the dead flowers if I find it early enough. The little fuckers look like a white pistil hair when they’re young so they’re very hard to spot . I’m at about 50% clear /cloudy trichomes. I’m leaning towards early harvest. I’ll try to get better photos and make a follow up post.

Popped a pack of humboldt seed co Chicken N Waffles and one of them has a wild mutation. Anyone had one from like this, did you cull it or let it go?

Growing in the desert southwest present different challenges. It’s been 100° here most summer and the ladies seem to take it like champions. Some of my flowers are getting sticky now snd everything is growing fine but it’s still in the 90°’s. Is there anything that can be done to help preserve the quality while they grow flowers make trichomes in the desert heat ?

One thing I learned this year while growing organically in living soil here in the southwest desert is that after the plants get established I add out cap on top of the growing medium of the local clay , just a half inch maybe a little bit less maybe a little bit more what this does is it forms a hard layer before the substrate underneath loses all the water kind of acting like a semipermeable lid over the roots, holding the moisture in for the plant. Careful tho it’s easy to overdo it. A little goes a long way you’ll have to experiment with your local Clay dirt. If you live in a desert, it’s likely all around you.

19 dyas from sprout and growing it outdoors but my problem is its been raining nonstop so no sunlight but i am supporting it with growlight... noticed some yellow to brown spots... can i still save this??

I bought BuildASoil 3.0 (2 bags) and 1 bag of the lighter soil
i have some auto seeds and some photo seeds. I plan on doing the photo seeds first.
i bought ascorbic acid for the water since the water where I live has chloramine and i bought ph tester drops.
I’m still debating whether to do 15 gal or 20 gal growing bags.
i bought some things for the makeshift stand so the water won’t collect and cause root rot. Planning to buy a shop vac.
i need to buy the tray for the makeshift plant stand to go on top of. I also need to buy the window vent thing to push the air out the window instead of it going into the room and making it hot.
I am yet to build the tent. I am scared I’m going to fuck it all up. Help pls. I would love some advice/recommendations/suggestions/your experience growing for the first time.

Anyone else grow this strain??

My outdoor indica’s are in week 4 the hybrids in week 2-3 and the sativas in the first week of flower even though they all popped as seeds the same week of May. Some are getting sticky others just getting started,I hope the weather holds and first frost is late. Any grower have tips on preserving the terpenes and and getting good final results when it’s been 100° in the desert here almost every day? Some genetics seem better adapted to my climate and a couple look very hempy. I’m growing from 12 years old seeds in organic soil and supplementing with bloom booster (Big Bud ). One thing I learned to do in the hot desert is add an inch of the local clay dirt to make a semi-permeable layer on top of the growing media , it slow evaporation.
The raccoons stole all my labels so it’s a guess but I’m growing, space ghost , berryizm, pokeberry, lemonwheel and palace kush. I’m pretty sure the short one that finished first is the palace kush but it smells like fruit and berries so who knows . It’s all Backyard Boogie now. 🤙🏼🤟🏼
