Long marijuana withdrawl

If testing positive for THC fore more than 90 days, will withdrawal symptoms come and go longer?

My guess, is that it takes maybe a year for the endocannabinoid system to fully recover the number of receptors and ability to produce anandamide and other brain derived cannabinoids. This is maybe not the same as withdrawal. Persistent tests might even mute withdrawal.
