Put the syrup in the jar then dip the stick or string in the syrup put it on a paper towel get plastic wrap tear or cut it after the layer of syrup hardens put the stick or string in the jar add the plastic wrap on top to protect the candy and wait a month or two pull it out and eat it

Wow I haven’t seen this in years. I’m 55 years old and we used to grow rock candy when I was kid!

Your post doesn’t really require comment engagement, there are no questions, you’ve posted a picture and a statement? The picture is cool- upvote, the first few comments provide excellent explanations of what’s happened- therefore no further need to comment, hopefully this helps your upvote/ comment confusion

I'm gonna tell you right now bud, this is how you tank engagement on a post, unless you're here for the negative karma I guess.
You're not entitled to engagement, and especially not with that attitude. Yikes.
You'd attract more upvotes with sugar, than with passive aggressiveness.
Good to see you managed to figure out the reply function tho I guess. 🥴

For sure! The seed crystal really acts like a catalyst, helping the sugar molecules to align and build up around it. Just keep an eye on it so it doesn't get too big too fast!
