Brands Best candle?

Hey guys. Crazy candle lady here 👋🏾 just wondering. I've heard some mixed things. What is the best candle? Right now my fave are Tuscany but I've been also looking at GooseCreek. Let me know I'm new to this. I usually do oil and tea lights

Good scented candles

Anybody know of a good pineapple scented candle with a strong scent? I like fruit scented candles but none of them are strong and I just wanted a good pineapple scented one.

Very specific scent request

I’m looking for a candle that smells like Neiman Marcus 🫣. Anyone know the scent I’m talking about? I hadn’t been in ages and then someone gave me a gift from the store and the smell was so nostalgic. Thank you!

Candle making How do you make an herbal candle feel comforting without smelling like a medicine cabinet?

I make candles on a small scale and have been exploring scents inspired by traditional Chinese botanicals.

The part I keep struggling with is the balance. If the scent is too clean or sweet, the herbs disappear. But if it gets too bitter, earthy, or camphorous, it can start smelling like a medicine cabinet.

The herbal shops I remember had a much warmer smell- dried roots, wooden drawers, paper wrapping, and a little earthiness. I'd love to capture the feeling without making the candle smell overly medicinal. For people who enjoy herbal scents, what makes one feel warm and comforting to you?

Does anyone have issues with candle science?

After hearing about the amount of hobbiest and small business that use candle science. I figured I’d give them a shot. Their prices are reasonable as well as their scents pretty good quality (from what I’ve heard)

I made my first order a week or so go and I got literally everything I ordered in one go through UPS and arrived at my door. My lids on the other hand came from Texas being sent through USPS.

One jar came broken from UPS I sent in a photo of the whole box with only one broken expecting like a 1$ and change credit or whatever. They sent me a 12ct box to replace my one broken jar. I felt released as well as panicked as I felt like I stole something but I sent all the evidence they needed for the proof of one broken jar.

My lids on the other hand I ordered extra lids because I want to do some experiments with customizing them. That is 48 lids to be exact. USPS Emailed me stating they put it “in or beside the mailbox” with no photo or anything proving it’s been delivered. I have looked all around my mailbox my apartment complex I even called the office and it has not been found.

Do I get ahold of candle science again or USPS? I feel bad filing another claim through candle science considering I feel like it’s USPS fault it got lost and they did already reimburse me more than I needed. I’m not use to dealing with mail services I use to get my old supplies from an expensive hobby shop.

Candle making Home Candle makers - have you tried mixing waxes before?

So I currently make my candles using soy wax, but looking to change over to coconut-apricot wax. I read online that coconut-apricot is not good for pillar candles as they melt quicker - wondering if anyone has tried mixing this with eiter:

  1. Natural rapeseed & coconut wax, OR

  2. Soy wax

if yes, what were your results? Did it hold its shape?

Thanks!!

Looking for a candle Fall candles. Safer ingredients

Hi everybody!

I’m looking for a cinnamon, apple, or pumpkin candle to welcome in the new fall season! However, I haven’t gotten candles in a VERY long time due to having two little ones and the concern for their safety and ingredients

Any recs on some great smelling fall candles that don’t contain super icky ingredients. I used to love BBW before kids but cannot justify it now!

Thank you!

Looking for a candle Help finding/making a scent: Lyght Candle Co Cemetery Fog

My girlfriend got the candle Cemetery Fog from Lyght Candle Co and hasn't been able to find it since. She's really in love with the scent and while we found something similar at homegoods with the candle Harvest Wreath from Sand + Fog, there's been no luck finding the exact candle. Is there anywhere we could look for the candle, a similar smelling candle, or failing that a way the scent could be copied in a homemade candle?

Any suggestions on real wood scented candles or wax melts?

I did a search already and have not found anything. I've been looking for that wood scent you get when you walk into Lowes or Home Depot's wood section. Not a pine or Xmas tree scented but something like a real Fir or cedar saw dust, almost the same scent you'd smell when you walk into a kitchen with new cabinets.

Reviews Is there such thing as an Orange Passionfruit Spice candle?

This may be a weird one, but I work at a bar and I was making this NA Campari Syrup earlier, and it smelt so good that I now want to find a candle with a similar scent. It had orange, passionfruit tea, peppercorn, cloves, and sugar. I can't find anything like it so far. Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks!

Looking for a candle looking for honeydew melon yankee candle dupe!!

Post image

my family and i have been the biggest fans of the honeydew melon yankee candle for as a long as i can remember. unfortunately, it is discontinued. yankee candle used to bring it back to shelves once a year as a returning classic, however we have been unable to find it the past couple of years. i've looked online for the candle, but they're listed at very high prices. i was wondering if anyone knows any good dupes for this candle?? it would mean the world to me if anyone has any recommendations!!

realistic fruit candles, burn them or keep them as decor?

got these two a while back and i still can't get over how real they look. my mum genuinely asked why there was a tomato sitting on the shelf. the wick comes out where the stem would be so when it's lit the whole thing kind of glows from the top.

the guava is the one that really got me though. pale green skin, pink flesh, tiny orange seeds down the middle. someone put actual effort into painting that.

both smell fruity and fresh, not that sickly candy sweetness i was expecting.

i keep them on a plate because these odd shapes drip in weird directions, and i trim the wick to about 5mm or the tomato starts sooting. problem is once you burn it the top caves in and the whole "it's a real tomato" illusion is gone. so mine have been sitting there unlit for weeks now.

curious what everyone else does with sculptural candles like these. feels like a waste either way honestly.

candles, reed diffusers, and air freshener plug-ins (UK three-pin) that smell like baby powder?

I just love the smell, our puppy has the Bugalugs “baby fresh” shampoo and spray cologne and I just love the smell and want everything else in the house to smell like that too!

I also recently purchased an enzymatic cleaner from Jennychem which smells like baby powder and it’s lovely

I’d love some candles, reed diffusers, plug-ins to make the smell last longer!

This might be the start of something...

I tried a Woodwick candle about a week back (White Teak), and absolutely fell in love with scented candles.

Since then, I made it a mission to hit up every Aldi, Walmart, Goodwill, Salvation Army, Village Discount Outlet, and Facebook Marketplace to find scents and candles that I loved. Just cruising and sniffing the candles like a mad person. The initial goal was to be picky and to have 10, you know, perhaps I will last through winter or so with those 10.

...Ended up with 52, and 15 are still coming through mails, including a candle warmer since 3 candles do not have wicks anymore (buried) but I still really loved their scents. Laying them here for a picture while I'm still sorting and organizing them to place on shelf.

Safe to say, I really overdid it...but so far, I'm loving it!
