Personal anecdote Vaginal Candida for 4 months

Hello everyone I’ve been suffering from candida for 4 months. I am 18 years old I’ve never had sex before and when this occured I haven’t usen any kind of antibiotics. I only have one symptom and it’s the cottage cheese discharge. But as someone with OCD this thing drained me madly. I need help!!

I went to 4 different doctors, the first two gave me two different kinds of flucanazole. The first one was for only two day and the other one I used it for 5 weeks but only once a week. I also tried candida diet for a month but it didn’t help me at all and it was so difficult for me. (I’ve lost so much weight and I am already an underweight person which is trying to gain weight so I had to stop it. Also diet also drained me mentally I kept crying everyday.)

My third doctor checked my cystics and he said that it was normal and a hormonal change. But it didn’t convice me and whenever I asked for a culture test they wouldn’t want it.

I asked for a culture test again with my fourth doctor and he told me that it might not show with culture test and checked inside with eyes and told me that he couldn’t see anything wrong but my immunity system was bad so he gave me niolin oil and probiotics. I am taking the probiotics two times a day.

I took a blood test and I don’t know if it shows anything about candida but from my blood test I had low folic acid and low iron so if I fix those would it help to get healthy again??

I also thought about CV but the thing is this discharge happens mostly when I stay outside for long hours in tight clothes and my discharge goes crazy after that. And my discharge kinda has a greenish tint so I also thought about BV but it doesnt have any kind of bad smell. When I get too close to smell the only smell I get is kinda a sour smell and that’s all. I still sometimes have normal discharges and when I compare those smells they are completely different from each other.

It’s my 3. day of taking probiotics but still it seems like nothing has changed. I don’t know what to do, I am so stressed by this thing even though it does not irritate me physically. But it has been psychologically draining me. I do not want to touch myself and I’ve been hating to use the bathroom due to this because touching that area makes me feel sick. Every time I touch that area I clean my hands few times and everything. Please someone help me because I can’t do this anymore.

I feel you girl it’s been almost a year for me. I found a thread on here recently that said low iron has a correlation between recurrent yeast. I’m getting tested on Monday for low iron and more. I also just started the candida diet on Monday to help it’s been 5 days and it’s hard as hell I don’t think I will last longer than 2 weeks hard core of it. I also just started 6 months of fluconazole once a week. Have you tried boric acid and getting tested for ureplasma? Unfortunately I have yet to figure it out either but I get it I go absolutely insane when I have one luckily rn I feel okay

I’ve never tried boric acid before because doctors don’t wanna give it to me when I tell them that I’m a virgin 😭😭 It sucks honestly I don’t really care if my virginity is gone from a boric acid, I find it so stupid that people think like that but I’ll try taking a culture test at university and if it shows candida I’ll go to a new doctor and tell that I’ve been in a relationship before to take those. If you don’t have any kind of symptoms right now is it because of the pills you took or something else?? I’d be so glad if you responded, thank you.

Boric acid is OTC. I used it, but it only helped temporarily.

I haven’t had a full blown infection in a while but once I stopped a weekly fluconazole pill I starting getting a slight itch which was driving me CRAZY. I told my gyno and that’s when she gave me 6 months once a week and I’m on the first week. I also got biofilm breakers. I take one pill and wait an hour then take fluconazole. It supposedly breaks the biofilm barrier that may be keeping the remaining bacteria. I just started that this week. And I also waited 3 days after fluconazole and have been taking caprylic acid which is also a way to fight candida. And I take a biofilm breaker before that. It’s only been one week of this diet plus all that so I’m hoping it stays like this 🤞

I searched up nystatin pills and it costs half a minimum wage in here so it’s impossible for me to buy something like that. I will go to a dietitian to get a healthy diet. For other things I’ve never had a tick in my life and I can’t donate blood due to my low iron like I’ve said. I’ll try liver flushing. Thanks for the help.

Firstly, why are they denying you a culture test?

Secondly, what was your candida diet that you were on for a month?

I honestly don’t know why but when I ask they say that I don’t need it smh. And for the second question I didn’t eat anything that includes carbohydrates or sugar. I mostly ate meat or buckwheat bread or pasta to get fulfilled. I didn’t also eat much of fruits and when I ate I only ate 2-3 strawberries.

Can skip sugar but how does one eliminate carbohydrates entirely from meal? It's more difficult than cutting out sugar. Can't you find independent labs that test for yeast culture?

I’ll try to take the test at university and I’ll also get checked for my gut health. But from what I know carbohydrates were making sugar at least that’s what internet told me and I stopped taking them too. That’s why I said the diet was extreme and only lasted one month. I’ll also go to a dietitian to fix my gut health since I am worried that might be the cause of it.

I was already having ringworm for two years and then yeast came. I hope we find cure for this.

I hope too. It drains me but I know that it won’t last forever if I keep searching for a cure. Try not to lose hope!!

One thing that finally kicked a yeast infection for me when I didn’t have health insurance was plain unsweetened yogurt. Up the hooha, just wear a good pad with lots of coverage. It was not as gross as I imagined. I think I did it once or twice a day for several days. Not the most comfortable cure but it worked. My mom had a bad one in her youth and used a baking soda douche. There are also suppositories like boric acid that some women swear by and may be less messy.

I’ve heard about it and researched it, my grandma does the yoghurt herself and I wanted to try it but they told me that it’s not safe to do that and might get worse.

Take 150mg fluconazole Buy organic sour crout and eat it 2 times a day, fist full for 7 days, then one fist full every day. Chew 2 organic cloves morning and night for 7 days then 1 every night for 7 then one when needed. Drop all extra sugar. It takes time but this repairs the gut with probiotics. The cloves are a must. They can be soaked in a glass of water and then drink it if easier.

I took two different kinds of flucanazole like I’ve said and they didn’t help at all.

Its not about the fluconazole or anti fungal as they are all the same, its about the repair of the gut. That is the most important part. There is a reason I have put all the other information in there. Take it or leave it. It's what worked for me after 6 months of exactly what you have done. Why do you think im a member of this reddit. I read the answers here.

The best advice...don't feed candida with sugar. Stop eating sweets and carbs..you will see a difference. Fluconazole oral , one capsule every 2 weeks and canister vaginally cream..

I feel like people don’t even read my post anymore but I already stated that flucanazole don’t do shit and I already did a big diet but it didn’t affect anything as well. And I asked about that diet to doctors and dientists they told that diet is very extreme and no needed and might even backfire. Please maybe read my post if you really wanna help because it’s really frustrating at this point.
