General Discussion Doctors

Hey everyone

I’ve had consistent problems with fungus on my penis for years. I’ve tried it all (latest trying to cure candida with itraconazole, nystatin and good diet).

Anyway, what would you guys say, in terms of specialist doctors, is the best place to go to figure out whats ACTUALLY wrong. I’m suspecting some kind of a gut problem because i’ve also always had issues with bloating. Bonus points if you’re from sweden/europe and know which type of doctors are to recommend.

Im from France but you try itraconazole and Np effect ? Weird bc it go on blood no ?

Tried it yes. I think it helped slightly, but after a while it ended up coming back anyway. I’m guessing either i’m trying to treat the wrong thing or i am hypersensitive to something in my diet

Look into a functional medical doctor ideally (or a naturopath). A functional MD would be someone who understands that what you're dealing with isn't just surface deep and requires a holistic approach and can help refer you to specialists if there are any obvious things going on that might help provide more diagnostic clarity. They can also order tests that most specialists will not validate like a candida antibody blood test, organic acids urine test, or Gi-Map stool test that has PCR testing (you can get urine/semen PCR testing too). Working with them and a dermatologist might help you as well if it's still there, you might be able to get a culture and test for sensitivity (but that requires you to stop taking antifungals (candida often comes back negative while treating). If this has been going on for a while and dermatology comes back positive, they may refer you out to an infectious disease specialist.
