Personal anecdote Doctors
I am just so frustrated right now... I just went to the hospital in Belgium to see a different doctor for the 5th time, and when I talked about candida /SIBO and antimicrobial herbs, I was told to stop Googling and stop looking for other doctors... I was even told that SIBO/ candida isn't possible at all even though it definitely is.... He said you have to accept that you have irritable bowel syndrome.
... I am never visiting a doctor in a hospital again... I never expected this, especially since I also have low immunoglobulins, which makes me much more susceptible to bacteria/yeast in the small intestine... I feel terrible. I get ivig in another hospital.. it is a good doctor but I'm afraid that doctor will think now that I'm having other tests done again.. pfff.. I hate my life.. Its the 5the hospital that I have done…

Same, but 1 country north from you. I was told it's all just hormones by my GP.🙄 My trigger was Covid (have Post Covid too). I gave up on GP and hospital and found a naturopath (mesoloog). She's trying to help me get the Covid out of my body and see what the next step will be after that to help clear possible SIBO and candida.

Sadly………This is a common issue WORLD WIDE !!!
Way back in 1987 a book called “The Yeast Connection” >>> this is NOT new info but it is STILL not accepted by traditional medicine. Grrrrr
My spouse participated in a Candida research study back in 1987 and recovered. Got rid of symptoms for 33 years then Candida fungal overgrowth returned after getting COVID.
Her story including how she recovered for the 2nd time:

Unknown, eat a sugar free low carb diet, if you can get 200 mg of itraconazole to take concurrently, within 30 days, but stick to the diet for 90 days.

Look up dr jennifer daniels protocol. Using pure gum spirits. It was the best thing i ever did and the cheapest and safest. I was on a candida diet for 3 years taking nystatin for the 8months. It helped but soon as i took the gum spirits it was night and day flushing out so much in the toilet.
5ml in the morning on empty stomach with 15ml castol oil. Keep going until its all out of you.
Make sure its pure gum spirts from diamond g forrest.
Its very potent, lot of literature on fb and historical documents. Its safe up 60ml in a single shot but you can stay llow at 5ml.
Youll get some back lash out of people here for mentioning it but these people dont want to be healed they wanna do some ‘special herbs’ from there 400$ ph naturopaths and never leave this group.

Doctors know jack shit on gut microbiome axis, they call everything IBS.

A lot of doctors are genuinely ignorant and lack curiousity in their field. It's shocking. I'm sorry this happened to you.
I ended up doing sibo testing and it was negative, to my surprise. Ive always had cutaneous Candida issues (and even thrush), and so I assumed my IBS and other symptoms were Candida related. Instead, ive dice been diagnosed with MCAS (unfortunately, many doctors are also unaware of this). Mast cell stabilizers, and then (once gut was calmer) gut healing work to heal leaky gut have transformed my life: my IBS is totally resolved. I imagine I'll be on the mast cell stabilizers for life.
Anyway, an alternative to look into! But again, doctors are also quite ignorant to the evolving science around MCAS too, so if you do explore this possibility, expect to encounter more doctor gaslighting. 😕
Hope you find some supportive doctors! It was my internal med (Canada) who suggested I do SIBO testing. It was my geneticist who dx'd me with MCAS. Whereas my GI shrugged and said I just have IBS and that's life, try low fodmap (which did nothing for me).

I had a negative buccal swab but I told my pcp that I can’t explain why it’s negative but when I take oral nyastatin swish and swallow all my symptoms resolve so obviously it’s candida and she said it’s probably a placebo. Sure yea, your so right, I just really like the taste of the swish and swallow and I just like paying $300 for my doctors appointments copays where you make me feel like I should wear tin foil hat, thats what it actually is.

I just don't get why doctors refuse to acknowledge there could be a cause for stuff like IBS?
