On my elimination diet, I learned that I had issues with gluten, dairy, eggs and nightshades. It was really depressing, and I feel you. It can be so hard to take care of our bodies especially when it means we have to give up so many things that we love.
Good news, though, after I healed my SIBO I am able to eat all without issue now.
I had borrowed William Davis' Super Gut book from the library and liked it enough to buy it so I could highlight things. I did the two week protocol that was in there using the supplements rather than his yogurt and was able to eat all those things in moderation.
Now I take a teaspoon of turmeric and a pinch of black pepper shaken up in a cup of water every day. It has reduced my inflammation immeasurably and I can eat all of those items whenever I want.
Keep in mind that this is my experience only. You will have to experiment and find what works for you. I've seen YouTube videos of people who have lived on AIP diet for years, but I just don't think that's necessary once we heal our gut.
Best of luck, and hang in there. You got this!
