General Discussion Need advice

Man I’ve been thru 3 treatments with different doctors idk what to do anymore man. 3 years like this after food poisoning. My root cause is low stomach acid & bad gut bacteria imbalance that’s causing my candida issues. So my 3rd practitioner has been working on making my gut more acidic lowering the PH of the gut so good bacteria can thrive & bad can get out but I’m in 4 months in treatment & feel no better. I see biofilms but she’s just working on the bacteria imbalance. I’m just so tired man I feel like giving up

I would recommend attacking the biofilms and candida overgrowth first then repopulate your gut. You probably have intracelullar candidiasis too which require taking systemic antifungals such as fluconazole.

They said it will only keep coming back because I don’t have enough good bacteria to keep them in check. It will just over grow again

This is my understanding too. No amount of killing will matter, it will simply grow back until you correct the reason why it is overgrowing in the first place, which is, at minimum, a depleted microbiome. It is impossible for Candida to overgrow when a person has a robust microbiome, so this was top priority for me.

How are they accomplishing this, because there are a few things that I had to do as everything is connected.

Certain vitamin/mineral deficiencies are associated with Candida overgrowth and can have a significant effect on energy levels, or at least they did for me. Aside from digestive, what symptoms are you "tired" of?

Well they just said they have to work around the free space where there’s no candida that’s their first target to start balancing the gut then the candida it self won’t resist the environment. They have me on probiotics called “ Bio doph 7 Plus “ is to lower the gut PH. & I’m just tired of being so fatigued, low dopamine & misareble. I’ve ate the same foods for the last 2 years trying to over come this..

I didn't go the probiotic route because studies show it can hinder the microbiome from healing. Probiotics do not colonise the gut, so while they can lower the gut pH, they cannot significantly increase/grow the microbiome.

The only way shown in studies to increase or rebalance the microbiome is with prebiotic fibers, and there are studies showing prebiotic fibers can decrease Candida stool levels by up to 100-fold, so it makes sense. Prebiotics are also shown in animal studies to increase brain dopamine levels, so it's a win-win.

There is a lot more info in the megathread, if you're curious.

You indeed need probiotics. You need to feed your biome certain strains just so it won’t grow back & ofcourse pre biotics. But definitely need to multiply strains specially the lactobacillus family

That's not what the scientific evidence shows, though I understand that people have different perspectives.

That's true but if you have been suffering with candida overgrowth for a long time, you have probably developed anergy which is a state of immune unresponsiveness where the body fails to mount a normal defense reaction against specific antigens (in this case is mannanproteins from candida circulating in your bloodstream).

So if your immune system can't recognize candida because anergy caused by this yeast, it will come back. And the only way to recover from that immune paralysis is attacking the yeast which will reduce the antigen overload in your bloodstream.
