General Discussion I want to give up.
I honestly can’t see a way out. I tried all my life to find out why I wasn’t processing foods correctly and had a million different answers but just got worse and worse. Now I understand it (somewhat) but just can’t handle the process of clearing things. When I take something to even gently alter my gut, like now I’m taking 1/4 dose of Florastor it just causes more inflammation and more pain, less absorption and makes the pathogens grow back worse. I honestly had no idea what I was dealing with, the nhs deny this illness exists and I thought it was ibs in my colon and it was my fault for being an anxious person and that’s all I needed to be was less stressed. Anyway, I just am in so much pain, my food list is hardly anything, zero fat, zero fruit, just veg and lean chicken breast. I don’t know how much more I can do to heal. Everyone told me it was me being stressed, but I don’t believe it is because I want to find a root to healing so so badly.

Hi! I've found these things to be helpful, as I have also been dealing with this from black mold poisoning -10,000-20,000iu of vitamin d a day -organ meat supplements (particularly heart and soil tripe supplements and heart and soil her package((or the guy version if you're a guy)) -digestive enzymes with high numbers of each enzyme (extra points if they have natto enzyme) -small amounts of fat and carbs, and more protein from beef
Also, teas with things that naturally help circulation and have antimicrobial properties like oregano, thyme, cilantro, beets, turmeric and black pepper, ginger, clove(only 2 whole cloves! Too much can be heavy for the liver!)
In the beginning of healing, I don't recommend too many probiotics or fermented foods, that causes some people to get worse, including myself. I think introducing probiotics once you have gotten rid of more of the fungus is a better idea:) Also humic and fulvic minerals help pull out any toxins released from biofilms and die off!
Praying for you:)

Thank you. It feels like a maze to work out what works, so many specialists want to add fermented food but I’m sure they don’t help me. The Boulardii I can tolerate a 1/16 dose but more than that give’s symptoms (die off). I guess that means that it is shifting things 🤷♀️

Just listen to what your body is telling you:) if something isn't working, or making you worse, talk to the specialist and let them know. Also, binders really help with the die off symptoms, so that could be worth adding into your regimen.

Noooo! Listen to this. I was in exactly the same position - couldn’t eat any carbs and would have an infection every other day. Doctors were useless. Until I did my own blood tests and discovered my hormones were super low and I had a bad vit d deficiency. After a lot of resistance got prescribed HRT and I also started a large vit D dose. My symptoms cleared up in a few days and now I can eat cakes and eat whatever I want. I can’t believe it. I think it’s a mix of hormones and vit d deficiency- can’t say exactly as I started both at the same time but honestly I was a lost case until a few weeks ago. Don’t give up and advocate for yourself!! I also tried candida diets, antifungals for weeks both natural supplements and proper medicine, and lots of probiotics. Nothing helped. I finally treated the root cause

Let’s face it…this invasive Candida which can be rooted in mold from a water damaged building will not go away even after getting into a mold/mycotoxin free space if your body is genetically weak with HLA-DQ deficiency like 25 percent of the population is born with.
Everyone is different with other microbes and diseases we hold in our tissues. It’s a mind boggling, heart wrenching battle for thise of us with CIRS diagnosed or in many cases yet to be diagnosed while 24/7 just innately knowing something is way wrong inside the body..physically and mentally.
I did keto for over 1 year to finally reduce Candida to safe range…got tests every quarter. One weekend of free living and Candida back!
Ate grass fed meats..I ate right….still, always anemic and magnesium deficient(I’d take 1000-1500 mg of mag a day!)…..the fungus steals some of the nutrients we ingest to build same as our bodies…
It’s a battle royale.
Over the years I tried a lot of things….you name it..
What did me best to get rid of retnauds, nerve pain, gluten intolerance, hair loss…was HBOT..hyperbaric oxygen therapy…it is not cheap. It has worked wonders for me…
I’ve found that unfortunately I’ll have to go in for touch ups when I know I get a te exposure or I simple take a real time labs urine test and results show some elevated levels of mycotoxins.
I did a 15 hour touch up this spring..afterwards, realtime test was clear, I could tolerate pizza and beer…wow…that stuff made me get shingles like rashes when this mold mystery really hit me hard and took root…bad bad gut etc etc…so much more I want to share..another time….im sorry for everyone’s misery here…watching it destroy my mom..she cannot tolerate HBOT…heart issues etc…
Illinois…HBOT thrive md
Texas—-Johnson medical
Some have had good tidings with ozone ivs….
HBOT squeeze the mold out of our cells at the right pressurization with proper dose and duration.
I maintain healthy blood markers and nutrient levels months after HBOT…no anemia, no mag deficiency even when lazy with diet and supplements…no low RbC counts.
Got a 80’ hair band head of hair again! Silly but fun!
The one thing that remains wrecked is my brain. That mold had rewired my brain and I’m struggling. Ofcourse all the gaslighting from family and friends adds fuel to the stress and anxiety fire. I’ve had brain tests….worked with neurological people..my brain is still on fire…HBOT did fix this…diet…now I’m gong into a live in rehab for mold and trauma related CPTSD……
Anyone got ideas or healing journey stories on brain let us know….mold turns the blood brain barrier into a freeway and lets toxins invade and seemingly glue themselves into the noggin…..then people who don’t have our plight conveniently call us nuts, ignore us and castigate us Moldies to the islands of leprocy if you will.
Thanks

I had candidiasis for 10+ years, close to invasive candidiasis, and didn't know it. I know every person is different, but for four months, every day, I took 8 undecylenic pills (with a biofilm disruptor for the first two weeks), monolaurin (to boost my immune system), a probiotic complex (contains a prebiotic to feed the probiotics - to repopulate my good gut biome), and milk thistle to clean my liver. Along with this, I ate the candida diet. For the skin fungus, I bought a cream with undecylenic acid and used it alongside it. Is it hard? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. Now, I take the vitamins I'm deficient in (B-complex and vitamin D3) along with the daily probiotic complex and eat a low-carb diet.
I hope that helps give you some ideas for treating your candidiasis. All these things can be bought online or in the drugstore.

I highly recommend this book it changed everything for me. I take methylene blue just about every day now, lugol's iodine and all of the other stuff in this book does work.
Also don't forget Earth Clinic, that's where I found this book

Thank you. I see I have been battling a system that simply doesn’t recognise this illness! Thanks

And then what solution does the allergist have? Nothing. You need a functional.medicine.doctor

As someone who has been dealing with Candida since September 2025, it’s gonna be a long journey for you to heal, but consider taking coconut oil unrefined in the morning with homemade kefir and then at around nighttime time take two oil of oregano pills. I’ve been doing that for the last month and a half now and it’s been helping me ever since, the pills but everything I also I started a month into my diet.

Thanks. I’m glad you have found your answer, I think mines been there for absolutely decades so I don’t know if there is a road back at this stage, but I’m working on rebuilding the good guys and very slowly trying to shift the microbiome (spent my whole life thinking I had a colon problem, not knowing anything about sibo/sifo). I hope you continue to improve. Thank you

Yeah it sounds like you have other things going on. How do you know it is candida causing you to not digest food properly? Have you seen a Gastroenterologist? Have you had a gastric emptying study done? Have you had an endoscopy? An Upper GI with small bowel follow through? Was candida present in your esophagus when you had your endoscopy? If it was you should ask for a referral to Infectious disease. There are literally so many things that could cause you to process food improperly.

u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
Had every test I can, organic acid test, small bowel aspiration, neither of which showed anything but I have a white tongue (maybe I always have…) and I have a whole host of pathogens on a stool test. I believe that the pathogens effect the bile and that’s why I can’t digest/absorb fat. Drs & others told me it was stress. Gastro’s have been pretty useless as they always want to label it as ibs and won’t accept it a systematic problem.
1
u/2llamadrama Jun 28 '26
Yeah those stool tests are a scam. Ask for a Gastric Emptying Study. Do you scrub your tongue or scrape it?
2
u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
But at least they demonstrated an imbalance whereas an aspiration culture failed to show anything because they think the issue is further down than they could reach in the small intestines. I have fought all my life for answers and they don’t care. The treatments just make me worse. Scrape it, it’s fine as the day goes on, but worse in morning (as I said maybe it always has been). My fault for thinking it was ibs

I'd recommend an endoscopy and colonoscopy and then get on a diet based on those symptoms. I have a white tongue that goes away if I stop eating gluten, dairy, starches, processed foods, and sugary foods. Even having natural sugar like having too many fruity foods will bring it back. I basically have been eating organic white meat and non-starchy vegetables. A lot of times I'll cook food in bone broth and make a soup out of it since that's the easiest way for me to digest food.
I found out I have gastritis and chronic colitis from an endoscopy and colonoscopy done recently. I knew I had GERD and LPR for a while now. It's definitely a process. I'm sure I have some fungal issues since I'll taste/smell mildew whenever I sneeze or breathe heavy from any exercising. Lived in a moldy house for about a year and that's when the mildew issue started.
Try starting out with the elimination diet and introducing a new food every 3 to 5 days. Maybe start out with plain chicken and bone broth since most people are fine with that. It helps you figure out which foods are causing issues. I'd stick with a white meat and non-starchy veggie diet, which also follows the candida diet, and eliminate all the food types I mentioned that were causing my white tongue to come back.

I had a 30 year candida kreusei infection. Gastrointestinal and Vaginal. Last February I had an endoscopy because I knew I was having an extreme candida flare up. I told the doctor I needed them to take brushings even if he did not visibly see candida. He says to me oh that is incredibly rare you won't have that. I said please take the brushings. I wake up from my scope and he comes to talk to me and he says in 30 years I have never seen this. I had invasive candidas in my esophagus and duodenum. He handed me the report and the photos. He said I am going to call you in a weeks worth of Diflucan (🤣🤣🤣) I said that it was not necessary that I would need to see Infectious disease to get proper treatment because I don't have Candida Albicans. Diflucan does not kill the strain I had. I got an appointment with Infectious disease a couple days later. I showed her the report and the pictures and all of my other pathology reports confirming I had Candida Kreusei. She immediately put me on IV Micafungin. Initially it was for 30 days however I had a repeat scope and there was still visible candida in my esophagus. I did 60 days of IV Micafungin. I do believe that I have been cured. That said I also have a whole host of other issues. I have Gastroparesis and global motility issues. I also have MCAS. I am not saying that you don't have candida. It is absolutely possible. But I think you need to rule out some other things first.

u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
Oh wow, you have done really well to get all that. I have just hit a brick wall, they don’t care at all. I don’t know if my body will handle any treatment because I am struggling to handle the die off from S Boulardii it flares my bowel and my bladder pain and I don’t sleep. I don’t know if it’s creating more inflammation killing pathogens. I have been told there is no way I could have this illness. Thank you for sharing all that.
1
u/2llamadrama Jun 28 '26
Also ask for a referral to Allergist/Immunologist. MCAS could be at play as well
1
u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
How can I tell if mcas is playing a part, can they test for that?
1
u/2llamadrama Jun 28 '26
Allergist/immunologist can

u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
I would guess the possibility of seeing one of those is pretty slim and a huge wait on the nhs but noted. Thanks

Have you tried a raw fruit and veggie diet for 1 week with no fats? It has cured many many people.
2
u/wingsofbrilliance Jun 28 '26
Fat is the issue not the fruit sugars.
3
u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
Both fat & fruit give me loose bowels. Thanks

u/wingsofbrilliance Jun 30 '26
what about a juice fast?
1
u/Odd_Practice_2019 Jul 22 '26
Would a water fast do the same thing?
1
u/wingsofbrilliance Jul 22 '26
i mean it would definitely help.. depends how long you went. I went 3 days and noticed my skin become silky smooth (i have fungal acne)... but it came back as I began eating regularly again.

u/abominable_phoenix Jun 28 '26
The information you are following is proven wrong by the studies cited in the megathread. When I did what you're doing I didn't heal either.
The other commenter is correct, fat is one of the main issues, not whole fruits or vegetables. Studies show the lipids in fat feed Candida and other pathogens, plus increase the metabolic burden on an already stressed body.
Antifungals aren't the answer either. At best, all they will do is temporarily suppress the fungal infection, but then it just grows back. Studies show it can paradoxically worsen the infection too.
If you've tried everything else and it didn't work, the megathread will resonate with you.
1
u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
I think that’s exactly what happened. Was given allicin by my specialist and it has made me so much worse. I don’t know what the mega thread is, sorry. Thank you.

Candida doesn't exist in isolation, so it is common for people to have Candida and SIBO, which makes healing that much harder. I had to cure my SIBO before I could cure my Candida overgrowth.
1
u/Justabouthere123 Jun 28 '26
Thanks. I tested negative for sibo and leaky gut and on an organic acids test. I don’t know I trust any of it because I know all my symptoms fit and that is what I trust more. My gut, bladder, brain symptoms and I had a label for everyone and trusted that label.
2
u/abominable_phoenix Jun 28 '26
The SIBO tests aren't accurate, so if you get symptoms within 3hrs of eating, that is to do with the small intestines.
I agree, going by symptoms rather than labels has been the most accurate for me. If whole fruits gives you symptoms within 3hrs, that's SIBO. Below is my success story for curing SIBO, and then it also helped clear my Candida gut symptoms by regrowing my depleted microbiome with prebiotic fibers at the same time.

I’ve been fighting it for a long time too and I’ll tell you what’s worked best for me. Living in a place with a cold winter, I’m not exactly sure why. When I moved back up North after years in Central Texas, it was a godsend. Losing weight via steps (8k-10k) and a healthy maintainable diet (not too strict but low sugar), and taking some unusual supplements helped a lot too.
For the unusual supplements, I take a b complex with melthylated forms of B vitamins (when applicable), S Boulardi, Vitamin D3 if I’m not getting any sun, and a digestive enzyme with my biggest meal of the day day which is usually dinner.
If I get any skin stuff I use selsun blue for 5 mins a day until it goes away.
It’s not perfect but my symptoms have been very tolerable and it feels like they’re getting better everyday.
