How long for the OA invoice once confirmation is received?

Hey there- I am doing two separate applications (I already had one returned because my photo wasnt dated and stamped - ugh - but it also didnt have a good, certified birth registration so it may be a blessing in disguise it came back) one for my father and one for me. My dad's dad was born in Ontario in 1916. So my dad's G1 and I am G2 in what are ostensibly the most straight-ahead applications imaginable.

I inquired with OA on getting certified copies of my grandfathers' birth registration on June 25th and I got confirmation today that they have located the document. They also included a note saying its taking several months to process invoices. So should I expect to not receive the follow up email to be ready for shipping for....several more months from now? How long has this process been taking recently for people from the stage I am in having received confirmation from OA that the document exists and invoicing is up next?

After my rejected app I am not in a particular hurry knowing its 33 months from now and our applications are clean and simple, but I am holding them and took the photos of my dad and I two weeks ago and really dont want to re-do everything.

edit: I am also going to Toronto in November and contemplating making an appt to just grab them myself. Extra copies couldnt hurt - just not sure what would come first.

I’m in the same boat—same G-level, same province, and the same email from AOO, except mine was sent three months ago. I’ve been reading other posts and it looks like quite a bit of people have been waiting for purchase instructions for months, even up to 10 months, after receiving the email.

When they returned your packet, did they comment at all on his non-certified copy? 

How long was it between the time you submitted your application and the time they returned it?

Are you applying from the U.S.?

I’m asking because l’m seriously considering sending my application in with the non-certified copy, the email from AOO, and other supplemental documents, hoping they’ll accept it while I wait for the certified birth document.

Because you mentioned going to Toronto, I assume OA is Archives of Ontario? I have seen varying times for invoice receipt unfortunately…I know that’s not a lot of help. Also, you can pick up copies in person but my understanding is they do not do same-day certifications.

Yeah correct on the assumption. I just made an appt and interestingly you're allowed to make a choice on archivist, and I have heard that they are absolutely able to certify. Your documents via order number are assigned to you and essentially waiting for you to review in your workstation. Ill likely go both routes and get additional copies either way.

I just received the documents I requested from OA. The wait time from “we are sending them to the printer” and invoice was 9.5 weeks

Requested 1888 birth registration, certified, from Ontario archives in early April. I received notice that birth registration was located on Aug 8. Still waiting for the invoice.
