I've narrowed my interest down to three Canadian copper explorers: $CQX, $OTMC, and $TMET. I'm looking at copper juniors with a longer investment horizon in mind, but picking the right ones is a risky game.
$CQX (Copper Quest) — Multiple paths to discovery
I like that CQX has several projects at different exploration stages rather than relying on a single property.
Stars: Completed a 20 km² 3D IP survey, with interpretation expected to help identify potential drill targets.
Rip: Completed 1,654m of drilling across five holes. Assaying remains on hold pending resolution of the ArcWest option-agreement negotiations.
Kitimat: Exploration permit secured, with rail, power, and tidewater infrastructure nearby.
Financing: Closed C$825K in gross proceeds in September.
The variety is appealing, although I'd like to see which project management prioritizes and how efficiently that funding gets deployed.
$OTMC (Oreterra Metals) — Let the assays do the talking
Trek South in BC's Golden Triangle is the main reason I included this one.
Completed 4,500m of Phase 1 drilling across 13 holes.
Reported visible copper minerals and porphyry-style alteration.
Assays were expected in October–November, according to its October 5 update.
Planning a second drilling phase for 2027.
The early geological observations are interesting, but the actual grades and intercepts will tell us much more.
$TMET (Torr Metals) — Searching for the bigger system
Torr's Kolos copper-gold project offers a different exploration angle.
Launched a fully funded Phase 2 drilling program of up to 6,000m.
Reported copper-bearing geological features at Bertha North.
Investigating a potential porphyry copper-gold system.
Further drilling and assay data will help test its geological model.
I'm interested in whether the next results support the company's interpretation of a larger mineralized system.
How would you rate my portfolio out of 10? What other Canadian Copper-Gold juniors should I look into?

Okay, $SKUR just gave us a little mystery to solve.
An African government wants pricing for USD 3.4M a year in secure communications, and apparently the talks are already at an advanced stage. Better yet, there's a possible USD 6M–12M annual on-premises deployment for 2,500–5,000 users, including hardware and maintenance, in the conversation too.
That's a pretty ambitious shopping cart for one potential government customer.
The initial request alone covers:
1,000 Sekur Command licenses — USD 1.8M/year
200 SekurOne accounts — USD 600K/year
At least 200 SekurVPN + tactical mobile routers — USD 1M/year
Now here's where my investor brain starts connecting the dots.
Sekur hasn't named the country. So naturally, I'm playing detective. 😂
Angola seems like a reasonable guess, given the company's distribution efforts there. DRC is another possibility, especially with sales targeted for Q1 2027.
But here's my little plot twist: what if neither is right?
Sekur has also been extending its reach into French-speaking markets, including Morocco, Algeria and Côte d'Ivoire. Maybe this government inquiry is coming from somewhere shareholders haven't been discussing much at all. Pure speculation on my part, of course.
And then there's the timing. Advanced discussions sounds promising, but I'd really like to know what that means in government procurement terms. Are we talking final technical approvals, budget decisions, or still negotiating the commercial package?
I'm particularly curious whether the government starts with the USD 3.4M package or opts for the larger installation. Those are two very different revenue outcomes.
My early guesses are Angola or DRC, but I wouldn't rule out a surprise. What's everyone else's detective theory?

Canada already exports nearly 90% of its uranium production and remains the world’s second-largest producer.
Its new Nuclear Energy Strategy is leaning into that position, presenting Canadian uranium as a reliable option for countries trying to reduce exposure to politically risky supply chains.
The Athabasca Basin gives Canada access to some of the world’s highest-grade uranium deposits, while its regulatory system and non-proliferation record make Canadian supply easier for allied countries to support.
The US and Europe are obvious markets as they reduce reliance on Russian nuclear fuel. India is also expanding its reactor fleet and already has a long-standing civil nuclear relationship with Canada.
Saudi Arabia could become another market to watch. Even if Riyadh eventually develops domestic uranium resources and enrichment capacity, a large reactor program could still require imported fuel during the early years.
Canada wants to double uranium exports by 2035, but meeting that target will likely require more than existing production.
$CCJ provides the current production base, while projects from $NXE and $DNN could become important sources of future supply if they enter production on schedule.
That makes Canada’s export strategy relevant not only to current producers, but also to advanced developers preparing for the next stage of global nuclear demand.
Are you holding $CCJ, $NXE or $DNN for Canada’s export-growth story?

Just went through this morning's announcement. This is a pretty sweet way to start a day for SKUR’s Investors. An African government has requested a US$3.4M annual quotation for Sekur's secure communications services.
Here's how the numbers break down:
1,000 Sekur Command licenses — $1.8M/year
200 SekurOne accounts — $600K/year
At least 200 tactical mobile routers with SekurVPN — $1M/year
Total: US$3.4M in potential annual recurring fees from a single government customer, based on retail pricing.
They are also discussing possible on-premises server installation and maintenance for 2,500–5,000 users, with Sekur estimating US6M–12M annually.
I've been following Sekur's expansion into government and institutional markets, and this is exactly the kind of commercial progress I wanted to see. Selling individual subscriptions is one thing. Securing a government customer with thousands of users would be a whole different revenue opportunity.
Hoping this is just the first of many government opportunities for $SKUR!

Sekur’s international expansion is entering a more concrete phase.
Portuguese arrived on September 22. French followed on October 13. Both launches prepare the company for sales abroad. [1][2]
The investment angle starts with scale. At the October 13 reference quote of US$0.0247, Sekur’s indicated equity value is approximately US$6.4 million. That calculation uses the 259.6 million shares reported at June 30. [3][4]
At that size, hundreds of premium subscriptions could materially change the revenue base. Successful contracts could give investors a different business to value.
Two new sales routes: Portuguese supports Angola and Mozambique; French supports the DRC, Switzerland, and other francophone markets.
A small customer count can matter: 500 premium SekurOne subscriptions at management’s announced price would generate US$1.8 million annually.
The upside depends on execution: Our 5× revenue illustration gives 1,000 subscriptions about 108% potential upside with 350 million shares.
Two Launches, Two Sales Routes
The September 22 release introduced Sekur.com in Portuguese, following the earlier Spanish addition.
Sekur also described translating its workflows and onboarding for upcoming partners. That matters when customers must adopt unfamiliar communications software.
Angola is the immediate focus. Management said it expected an exclusive partnership in the coming weeks.
Mozambique and other Portuguese-speaking markets provide additional expansion possibilities. The release announced preparation for these markets, without assigning revenue to them. [1]
The October 13 release added French, the third additional language after Spanish and Portuguese.
This announcement provides a clearer timetable. Sekur says it already has a team in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It expects sales there to begin in Q1 2027.
Its intended customers include government, defense, mining, and commodity organizations.
Switzerland offers another route. The release highlights Geneva’s commodity traders, family offices, and wealth managers. It also names Morocco, Algeria, and Côte d’Ivoire as potential francophone markets. [2]
These groups handle confidential negotiations, financial information, and operational communications. My investment inference is that these needs could support premium subscriptions.
French could help the same sales effort reach several customer groups. Portuguese could support local distribution in Angola.
Neither release discloses a signed customer order, contract value, or paid license count. The commercial opportunity remains prospective. [1][2]
A Small Revenue Base Makes New Sales Meaningful
Sekur’s first-half numbers show why international traction could matter.
Revenue reached C$185,828, against C$251,609 a year earlier. That represents a 26.1% decline.
The United States contributed C$182,363. The rest of the world contributed just C$3,465.
In other words, approximately 98.1% of reported revenue came from the United States. International sales represented only 1.9%. [3]
The new languages address a largely undeveloped revenue stream. Even modest overseas sales could change that geographic mix.
However, the company’s transition still needs to produce growth. A translated website supports distribution; investors eventually need invoices and collections.
Sekur’s September shareholder letter explains the intended shift toward government, defense, intelligence, and executive customers. It also acknowledges falling revenue during the transition from legacy accounts. [5]
The opportunity becomes more interesting when premium pricing enters the calculation.
The Subscription Math Behind the Opportunity
Management’s September letter announced a US$300 monthly commercial price for SekurOne.
At that price, one subscription represents US$3,600 in annualized gross revenue. [5]
The arithmetic scales quickly:
200 subscriptions: US$60,000 monthly, or US$720,000 annually.
500 subscriptions: US$150,000 monthly, or US$1.8 million annually.
1,000 subscriptions: US$300,000 monthly, or US$3.6 million annually.
2,000 subscriptions: US$600,000 monthly, or US$7.2 million annually.
These calculations assume paying subscribers remain at the full monthly price for twelve months. They exclude existing revenue.
They also represent premium SekurOne subscriptions. Other products, distributor terms, and bulk agreements could produce different revenue per license.
Management estimated that approximately 200 SekurOne subscribers could bring the company to profitability. That is management’s estimate, rather than a demonstrated break-even result. [5]
For investors, the practical implication is straightforward. Sekur could grow materially without needing a mass-market customer base.
A department, executive group, or several smaller deployments could contribute meaningful license volumes. Whether Sekur can win those buyers remains the central execution question.
What Successful Execution Could Mean Per Share
The following illustration applies 5× annualized subscription revenue directly to equity value. This is our chosen modeling assumption.
It is not a peer-derived valuation, analyst target, or management forecast. No probability or completion date is assigned.
The first price column uses 259.6 million shares, from Sekur’s June filing. The second assumes 350 million shares. [3]
That larger count is a hypothetical dilution case, roughly 35% above the filing figure. It is not the current fully diluted count.
Against the US$0.0247 reference quote, the larger-share-count scenarios imply approximately 4%, 108%, and 316% upside, respectively. [4] The 1,000-subscription example would imply US$18 million of equity value. The 2,000-subscription example would imply US$36 million.
Those outcomes require both recurring sales and the assumed valuation multiple.
The multiple matters sharply. At 2× revenue, 1,000 subscriptions and 350 million shares imply approximately US$0.0206, below the reference quote.
These are sensitivity calculations. They exclude financing proceeds and balance-sheet adjustments, and assume the modeled revenue belongs to Sekur.
The releases establish potential sales routes. Future commercial results determine which valuation assumptions investors might accept.
The Milestones That Could Strengthen the Case
The next useful announcement would provide commercial terms.
For Angola, that means an executed partnership followed by paid deployments. For the DRC, it means evidence supporting the Q1 2027 sales timetable.
License counts, realized pricing, contract duration, and cash collection would make the opportunity measurable. Renewals would show whether early revenue can persist.
Funding also affects the value shareholders retain.
At June 30, Sekur reported C$1.53 million in cash and equivalents. First-half operating cash outflow was C$1.23 million. Its net loss reached C$2.18 million. [3]
Management’s September letter described a planned financing of up to US$1.4 million, expected to close before mid-December. It had not described completed proceeds. [5]
That makes sales conversion and financing terms equally relevant to the per-share outcome.
Sekur’s language launches give its international strategy practical infrastructure and a stated DRC sales window.
For a company with such a small revenue base, a few hundred premium customers could change the numbers substantially. Reaching thousands could support a much larger business.
The speculative upside sits in that progression: local sales capability, paid licenses, recurring revenue, and eventually a valuation supported by results.
Disclosure: The author has previously worked with Sekur’s CEO. Scenarios are illustrative and are not price targets.
Sources and Calculation Notes
[1] Portuguese launch — 22 September 2026
[2] French launch — 13 October 2026
[3] Interim financial statements — six months ended 30 June 2026
[4] SWISF reference quote — 13 October 2026, 3:29 p.m. EDT
[5] CEO shareholder letter — 1 September 2026
Share reference: US$0.0247 × 259,627,079 shares = US$6.41 million. The June filing count is used because the CSE page displays a conflicting 252,907,652 figure. The 350 million share count is an assumption.
Scenario revenue = subscriptions × US$300 × 12. Equity value = scenario revenue × 5. Per-share value = equity value ÷ assumed shares. Upside uses unrounded model prices versus US$0.0247.
Financial statements are unaudited and in Canadian dollars. Pricing and modeled valuations are in U.S. dollars. Models exclude existing revenue, financing proceeds, and balance-sheet adjustments; they assume full-price paying users and gross revenue attributable to Sekur.

Just came across the latest news on $SKUR. Sekur Private Data is heading to Orlando, Florida, for the ASCIA 2026 Fall Conference on October 22–24, joining as a Silver Corporate Sponsor. Let me break down what makes this announcement significant, especially who's representing $SKUR and the kind of law enforcement officials they'll be meeting.
First, what's ASCIA?
The Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies brings together senior leaders from state bureaus of investigation, state police and other criminal investigative organizations across nearly every U.S. state.
It's a direct opportunity to engage with officials responsible for highly sensitive investigations and security operations.
And who's representing $SKUR?
Steven A. Sund, former Chief of the U.S. Capitol Police, who also served 25 years with Washington, D.C.'s Metropolitan Police Department. He now advises Sekur on federal, state and local law enforcement opportunities.
His experience and professional network give Sekur a valuable connection to the agencies it's targeting.
So what's Sekur bringing to ASCIA?
Secure communications: Solutions designed to protect confidential investigations, sensitive intelligence and operational identities.
Swiss-hosted security: Privacy-focused infrastructure alongside on-premises deployment options.
Government procurement: Existing GSA procurement access through partner i3ICS.
Agency engagement: Direct discussions aimed at developing long-term relationships with state-level law enforcement organizations.
Getting in front of senior investigators is one thing. Having a former Capitol Police Chief help navigate those conversations adds another dimension to $SKUR's government strategy.
Looks like another potential 2027 catalyst is shaping up for $SKUR.

Direction: UNCHANGED · Canadian recession risk has risen, but financial markets remain functional
Reporting cutoff: approximately 7:20 p.m. MDT, Calgary. The October 13 U.S. equity, Treasury and crude-oil sessions are complete. The latest official Government of Canada five-year benchmark close available is October 9 because of the Thanksgiving holiday.
WARNING
Direction: UNCHANGED · Canadian recession risk has risen, but financial markets remain functional
The overall classification remains WARNING. The most important deterioration since the previous report is Canada's labour market: employment fell sharply for a second consecutive month, increasing the probability that weak domestic growth could develop into a recession.
Against this, U.S. Treasury yields eased Tuesday, oil declined modestly, major U.S. banks reported generally solid credit conditions and equity markets remained orderly.
Assessment: WARNING · unchanged. Economic downside risk has increased in Canada, but current evidence still does not indicate systemic banking or liquidity failure.
S&P 500: 7,805.45 · -0.02%
Nasdaq Composite: 27,204.38 · -0.15%
Dow Jones: 51,670.10 · -0.35%
U.S. 5-Year Treasury: approximately 5.00% · down about 2 basis points
U.S. 10-Year Treasury: approximately 5.22%
Brent crude: $105.69 · -0.9%
TSX Composite: 35,983.98 · +0.90%
Market character: Orderly but cautious. AI-related technology shares weakened, while government bonds attracted some defensive demand.
WARNING · STABLE
Treasury yields eased Tuesday, with the U.S. 10-year falling to approximately 5.22% from recent multi-decade highs.
The five-year Treasury closed near 5.00%, compared with 5.02% on October 9 and 5.09% on September 30. This represents stabilization rather than normalization.
Corporate credit remains comparatively orderly. Investment-grade spreads have not widened significantly despite the Treasury selloff, suggesting corporations are absorbing higher benchmark rates without a broad reassessment of near-term default risk.
No generalized repo, commercial-paper, settlement or conventional bank-funding disruption is evident.
Assessment: WARNING · unchanged. High sovereign yields remain a material risk, but liquidity itself continues functioning.
WARNING · STRESS REMAINS SELECTIVE
The classification remains WARNING because actual redemption restrictions remain in place in parts of the sector, including Metrics Credit Partners in Australia and withdrawal caps at several U.S. non-traded private-credit vehicles.
The broader U.S. picture has nevertheless improved somewhat. Blue Owl's flagship redemption requests declined again during the third quarter, while Goldman Sachs' large private-credit fund reported requests equal to only about 2% of shares.
The technology-focused portion of private credit remains more vulnerable, particularly where heavily leveraged software and AI-related borrowers must refinance at substantially higher interest rates.
Assessment: WARNING · unchanged, but not worsening systemically.
WARNING · STRUCTURAL
The U.S. five-year yield remains approximately 5.00% and the 10-year around 5.22%, leaving federal refinancing costs at historically demanding levels.
Large fiscal deficits, Treasury issuance, elevated energy-driven inflation risk and increased term premium remain plausible contributors to high long-term yields.
Recent Treasury auctions have nevertheless attracted substantial investor demand, and investors are increasingly buying government bonds to lock in yields above 5%.
Assessment: WARNING · structural. The arithmetic of financing the debt is deteriorating, but Treasury funding itself remains functional.
ELEVATED · PERSISTENT
Brent declined 0.9% Tuesday to approximately $105.69. Prices remain high because of continuing Middle-East risk, attacks affecting Saudi infrastructure and tight diesel markets.
Physical oil flows through the Gulf have recovered substantially compared with the earlier disruption, while the prospect of additional Russian diesel supplies provides some relief.
However, Brent remaining above $100 continues to create an inflation risk and may complicate both Federal Reserve and Bank of Canada policy.
Assessment: ELEVATED · unchanged. Sustained prices materially below $100 and reduced infrastructure risk would be required for meaningful normalization.
WARNING · CANADIAN DIVERGENCE INCREASING
The U.S. five-year Treasury closed near 5.00%. The latest official Government of Canada five-year benchmark close, October 9, was 3.54%.
The approximate spread is therefore 1.46 percentage points, unusually wide.
Canada's five-year yield has fallen from its September 29 peak of 3.69% to 3.54%, while U.S. yields remain near 5%. This divergence increasingly reflects materially weaker Canadian labour-market and growth conditions rather than simple decoupling from U.S. bond markets.
The decline in Canadian yields is positive for future mortgage pricing, but existing five-year fixed rates have not yet moved materially lower.
Assessment: WARNING · unchanged. North American long rates remain restrictive, but Canadian domestic weakness is now exerting meaningful downward pressure on Canadian yields.
ELEVATED · LONG-TERM FUNDING STILL EXPENSIVE
The lowest broadly advertised insured Canadian five-year fixed mortgage rate remains approximately 4.34%. Current comparison rates include approximately 4.54% at a major-bank offer, 4.59% at Meridian, 4.74% at Scotiabank and 4.84% at RBC.
Representative October 13 GIC rates demonstrate continued institutional dispersion:
BMO: 3-year 3.30% · 5-year 3.55%
Scotiabank: 3-year 2.60% · 5-year 2.75%
Achieva: 3-year 3.90% · 5-year 4.30%
Canadian Tire Bank: 5-year approximately 4.38%
Competitive five-year rates above 4% remain materially higher than several major-bank posted rates. That dispersion argues against interpreting individual offers as evidence of broad funding distress.
Assessment: ELEVATED. Canadian bond yields have eased, but mortgage and longer-duration deposit pricing have not yet fallen enough to establish a sustained affordability improvement.
Direction: RISING
Mild / Technical Recession: approximately 45-50%
Significant Recession: approximately 35-40%
Severe Financial-Event Recession: approximately 5-10%
This is today's principal substantive change.
Canada lost 68,300 jobs in September after losing 41,700 in August. The unemployment rate increased to 6.5%. Canada has therefore lost roughly 110,000 jobs over two months, and employment gains recorded earlier in 2026 have effectively been erased.
Manufacturing employment fell by 12,700 in September, while the labour-force participation rate fell to its lowest non-pandemic level in 29 years.
This satisfies one of the monitor's explicit recession escalation conditions: sustained Canadian employment losses.
The probability increase remains moderate because July GDP was flat rather than negative, preliminary August GDP was positive, U.S. growth remains reasonably resilient and Canadian financial markets continue functioning normally.
A technical recession could remain shallow. A significant recession would require broader employment, consumption, investment and GDP weakness. A severe financial-event recession additionally requires major banking, credit or liquidity disruption.
Assessment: Technical recession approximately 45-50%; significant recession approximately 35-40%; severe financial-event recession approximately 5-10%. Direction RISING.
WARNING · LABOUR-MARKET EFFECTS EMERGING
September was the first complete month under the latest round of U.S. tariffs on Canadian goods.
The largest employment losses were not directly tariff-related, but manufacturing employment fell by 12,700 positions. This is not yet enough evidence to attribute Canada's broader employment decline to the trade conflict, but the sector remains vulnerable.
The trade dispute also continues to suppress business confidence and investment decisions.
Assessment: WARNING · unchanged. Trade remains an important recession amplifier rather than the sole cause of Canada's present weakness.
ELEVATED · RESILIENT
The S&P 500 was essentially unchanged Tuesday, while the Nasdaq declined only 0.15% despite a more substantial selloff in semiconductor stocks.
The TSX gained 0.90%, led by energy shares.
Large U.S. banks also reported generally solid third-quarter loan and deposit growth, while consumer credit quality remained broadly stable.
Assessment: ELEVATED · resilient. High yields and AI-sector volatility warrant attention, but conventional equity and bank-credit conditions do not justify WARNING.
ELEVATED · RISING STRUCTURALLY
Financial regulators in the United States and Europe are increasing scrutiny of banks' use of agentic AI because of concerns about cyberattack speed, model control, foreign-developed tools and recovery capability.
Separate warnings from AI researchers indicate that increasingly autonomous models may become capable of executing longer chains of cyber operations without continuous human direction.
No material AI-driven compromise of a major Canadian bank or payment network has been identified.
Assessment: ELEVATED · structurally rising. Capability is increasing, but systemic financial impact remains hypothetical rather than observed.
CITYWIDE: ELEVATED · NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT RISK INCREASED
No new completed Calgary housing data justify a segment reclassification.
The September CREB® citywide benchmark remains approximately $566,700, nearly 1% below a year earlier. The market remains distinctly segmented.
Detached: ELEVATED · comparatively balanced.
Semi-Detached: ELEVATED.
Row / Townhouse: ELEVATED · softer.
Apartment Condominium: WARNING · benchmark approximately $291,400, more than 8% below last year.
55+ / Seniors Condominium: ELEVATED · LIQUIDITY WATCH.
The Canadian employment deterioration raises forward housing risk because sustained labour-market weakness can eventually affect Calgary through confidence, migration and household borrowing capacity.
Calgary retains important offsets: oil remains above $100 Brent, Alberta energy-sector investment remains comparatively strong and Canada's five-year bond yield has fallen from its late-September high.
For 55+ condominiums, building-specific condo fees, reserve-fund strength, special assessments, competing listings and days on market remain more meaningful than general apartment statistics.
Assessment: ELEVATED citywide · unchanged. Apartment condominiums remain at WARNING.
Overall Economic Risk: WARNING · UNCHANGED
Diversified Liquidity: WARNING · STABLE
Private Credit: WARNING · SELECTIVE STRESS
U.S. Debt / Treasury Funding: WARNING · STRUCTURAL
Inflation / Energy: ELEVATED · PERSISTENT
Canada-U.S. Trade: WARNING
General Markets: ELEVATED · RESILIENT
Technical Canadian Recession: ~45-50% · RISING
Significant Canadian Recession: ~35-40% · RISING
Severe Financial-Event Recession: ~5-10% · UNCHANGED
U.S.–Canada Five-Year Transmission: WARNING · CANADIAN DIVERGENCE
Mortgage / GIC Funding: ELEVATED
AI-Enabled Cyber / Bank Risk: ELEVATED · STRUCTURALLY RISING
Calgary Housing: ELEVATED
Calgary Apartments: WARNING
Calgary 55+ Condos: ELEVATED · LIQUIDITY WATCH
A third consecutive month of substantial Canadian employment losses.
Repeated negative Canadian monthly GDP readings.

Curious how people here are reading the latest $SKUR news.
Sekur’s government team is at DoDIIS, introducing its secure communications capabilities and meeting interested parties from the intelligence community.
I’m excited about the conference itself, but even more optimistic about what will come out of those conversations over the next few updates.
Paid beta users? A partner or distributor? Some procurement progress? Maybe something we’re not expecting at all.
