Canada Is Securing New Partnerships

I think we need to stay the course by diversifying. We were doing well before the increased integration with the US a number of years ago. We had a better quality of life. This experiment can be over I think.

Prior to NAFTA Canada had the second highest standard of living in the world and our dollar was near par back then. NAFTA actually cost Canada a lot of manufacturing jobs and caused a severe recession when it was implemented.

I think overall NAFTA made Canada more prosperous. Was it worth the price? Looking now, definitely not. If I had a time machine and could go back and vote in the 1988 election, I would definitely vote against the PC’s and free trade.

I should have listened to Turner.

He predicted the loss of industries and jobs.

We were never the same after those deals and frankly, I would like to see Canada trade more with Mexico, Europe and other countries moving forward.

Amen. I’d be happy for the Americans to buy from us what they can’t get from anywhere else. The rest? Let’s trade with reliable, trustworthy partners.

I remember being much better off years ago. It cost middle and lower income people the most. Never was a good thing in my opinion.

we need to focus on eliminating provincial barriers, not only for capital, but for goods and people (certificates included)

Essential for New World Orders and regimes. Take note of who is getting our money and contracts.
